This is a good example illustrating how the card lie in one suit affect ur
play in another suit. Here declarer either need 4c+2h+2d or 2c+2h+at least 4d.
So the correct seqence should be cashing cak first, if cq drops, then just
finesee dq, if cq did not drop, then you have to dbl finesse dkj.

| w****b 发帖数: 623 | 3 In imps you certainly would take this line. In pairs, you could go -200 with
this line and get a cold bottom. If DK is offside but DJ is on, then oppo
certainly has some H partial and -100 would still be a great score but -200
would be a disaster. Here South did well by switching to a S and not
continuing H. And later N did well not to block the S suit despite that South
never showed any indication of such a good 5 card S suit.

Here 3d by east is almost certain, so +110 to EW. -100 and -200 should be
quite close.

If DK is offside, then that contract is on a H guess. In fact some NS might
even buy the contract with 2S so -110 and -140 could be popular scores too (on
those lay out).
I guess I have such a fear of -200 that I couldn't consider any line that
seriously risk that...
The other attraction of Fred's line is that everybody on the table knows Fred
had a S suit, nobody knows how good it is, so perhaps even though the S suit
