always-bad-luck abbot finally got the long due
national title. I'm really glad to see this, because
I've seen so many unlucky things happended to the
abbot in the past.

the knock out of Golden cup.

To me, that chapter is not funny at all. The real victory
is to win big title, not just win the skirmish like
qualifications.
That's why I felt good for abbot this time. (The only thing
that made this victory not perfect is that the aussie played
a too-important role in the victory. It should be abbot's
time,
not the aussie's.)

Yes, I personally like the abbot's style of bridge-playing,
although I disagree with him a lot on the philosophy about
dealing with people and matters. The Aussie is somewhat
arrogant and self-boosting, which makes me don't like him.
BTW, who is your favorite character in that series? Don't
tell
me it's Carmaroon(?).

Don't agree. Lucius is better than abbot only in inner
games.
When competing with outside opponents, Lucius is weak. Some
exmaples are (1) He said "Sorry, pd. I should've made it."
(2) He said "Nice card-reading" when he failed to mislead
the declarer. As to Paulo, he is even weaker.
to me that the only thing he did is

Lucius is an excellent defender and false card player.

Yes, it was said that Paulo is assigned in St Titus to help

level 1 bridge team there. However, keep in mid that abbot
