周三，在民主党绝对控制的麻省众议院，以压倒性优势（116-36）通过法案，禁止民众
在公众场合“歧视”跨性别者，并支持他们按他们自己认定的性别使用卫生间更衣室等。
该法案经过了数个小时激烈的辩论，最后在如雷掌声中通过。
一个自认性别为女的“女生”感动莫名。表示，这个法案使得ta在公众场不被歧视又走
近了一步。反对者则在众议院外抗议，高呼“为你可耻”！
2011年的州法已经禁止在雇佣和租房上禁止对跨性别者的歧视，但把相关法律拓展到公
共场所，这还是第一次。
反对者认为，这个法案将给一些性侵犯爱好者进入女性卫生间和更衣室绝好的利用机会
。民主党议员John Fernandes则表示，大家应该放弃恐惧，任何地方都不该容许有歧视。
麻省州长Baker已经在周二表示，同意签署相关法案。但需要对谎称自认性别的进行惩
罚。 不过，据悉，麻省参议院的版本将不会包括这个要求。
共和党议员Marc Lombardo则表示，这是为了1%的人的权利，剥夺了99%的人在卫生间和
更衣室的隐私权。我们孩子在卫生间感到安全的权利，少女洗澡时不应该暴露在少男面
前的权利。
共和党提案要求禁止有性侵历史者在使用卫生间时要和他们的生理性别一致。但很不幸
，被占绝对多数的民主党阻止而没法通过。
不过，共和党并不是铁板一块，有一位共和党议员Sheila Harrington表示听了跨性别
者令人泪下的倾诉，她决定改变主意。一个天主教的议员也表示不会反对这个法案。她
认为支持这个法案，恰恰体现了她的信仰。
大概有50位反对者要求和州长见面，不过被挡在门外，理由是，州长不在。 | S******6

BREAKING: Campaign to repeal Bathroom Bill announced

I just got back a few hours ago from the bathroom bill repeal campaign
launch. We had a good crowd gathered in front of the statehouse, with the
media in keep ma safe logo - pink FINALtow. On behalf of a diverse group of
community leaders, I was excited to announce the formation of “Keep MA
Safe,” as a ballot question committee. Keep MA Safe will lead the effort
to repeal the transgender bathroom, locker-room and shower law.
Representative Jim Lyons, who led the fight in the legislature against this
bill and its stripping away of privacy rights, fired up the crowd. We then
had three courageous mothers speak, Ashley King from Westford, Nan Li from
Wayland, and Mirna Merced from Cambridge. As I’ve been telling reporters
over the past several days, we have seen a real surge of interest and
activism on this issue. I believe that is because, as people learn about
what the bill will actually do, they realize it will impact them and their
children personally, and it will do so in potentially intimate settings. As
I told the crowd, the battle for privacy and safety in public
accommodations in MA is not over. As of today, it has only just begun.
Within the next 10-14 days, Keep MA Safe will be receiving the official
signature forms from the Secretary of State’s office which will allow us to
begin collecting the 32,375 signatures needed to put the law on the ballot

REPEAL the “Bathroom Bill!”
On July 8, 2016, Governor Baker signed into law a bill that eliminates the
right to privacy and safety in public restrooms, locker-rooms, showers and
changing facilities. We think that’s bad for Massachusetts, particularly
for the millions of women and children who are likely to be most affected by
it. That is why, as concerned citizens, we are exercising our
constitutional right to seek a repeal of this dangerous bathroom, locker-
room and shower law.
On July 18th, 21 dedicated and courageous citizens of the Commonwealth filed
a repeal initiative with the Secretary of State’s office. Between now and
the end of September, 2016, we will be collecting the 32,375 certified
signatures needed to put this law to vote by the people on the November,

What is the “Bathroom Bill?”
The official and misleading name of the Bathroom Bill is “An Act relative
to gender identity and nondiscrimination” and has been signed into law as
Chapter 134 of the Acts of 2016. This bill would add the vague category of
“gender identity” to the state ban on discrimination in public
accommodations. However, “gender identity” is defined in Massachusetts
law as “a gender-related identity, appearance or behavior, whether or not
that gender-related identity, appearance or behavior is different from that
traditionally associated with the person’s physiology or assigned sex at
birth.”
In other words, the bill relegates a person’s sex to their state-of-mind or
a mental choice, instead of basing it in biological reality. Those
advocating for this bill do not believe that men are necessarily men and
women are necessarily women. Rather, they believe that biology is an
inconvenient fact when it comes to matters of identifying one’s sex.
This bill would endanger the privacy and safety of women and children in
public bathrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and other intimate places (
such as common showers), opening them to whomever wants to be there at any
given time, and also to sexual predators who claim “confusion” about their
gender as a cover for their evil intentions. Since the law doesn’t
require a protected person to have a legitimate problem with gender
confusion, there is no way to distinguish between those people that this
bill is designed to help and those who will undoubtedly abuse its existence
to fulfill any number of deviant desires.
No law should make whole segments of the population feel unsafe and exploit
their privacy and security.

不清楚。
