available in the laboratory of Dr. Paul Lerou at Massachusetts General
Hospital / Harvard Medical School. This postdoctoral opportunity will join a
team of skilled technical professionals working in the area of pluripotent
stem cell (PSC) biology (e.g embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent
stem cells.) The overall goal of our research group is to model human
disease and developmental processes using PSCs. Specific projects for this
position will focus on how to employ PSCs to better understand early aspects
of lung development, and how genetic variants affect lung disease and
development. The work involves the application of multidisciplinary
approaches including molecular, cell, and developmental biology, genomics,
single-cell technologies (imaging and sequencing), and bioengineering
techniques. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and will be
expected to exhibit a strong work ethic, individual initiative, and the
ability to work both independently and as part of a team on research
projects.
A Ph.D. in biological or related sciences is required, as are strong oral
and written communications skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the
ability to work with others in a laboratory setting. Excellent training
background in molecular biology, cell biology, development biology and/or
epigenetics is preferred. Experience in PSC and pulmonary developmental
biology would be ideal.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will plan and conduct experiments
, analyze and interpret data, further develop presentation and writing
skills, and publish scientific manuscripts.
Application: Please apply by submitting to Paul Lerou ([email protected]/* */)
a cover letter describing past research accomplishments, research interests
