很多博士后回国自己瞧不起自己,与用人单位谈判时候,自我砍价。结果被用人单位瞧
不起,许多国外的faculty连复旦的Job offer也拿不到。或者只拿到普通的教职。

Prof. Zhu got his Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.B.S.) from Shanghai Second
Medical University in 1989 and Dr. med. (M.D./Ph.D.) at Dept. of Internal
Medicine, University of Heidelberg, Germany in 1995. He did postdoctoral
training and later as project leader at German Institute of Hypertension
Research, and Institute of Pharmacology, University of Kiel, Germany and
worked also in University of Washington as a visiting scholar. Before he
moved to Singapore in 1998, he worked as Regional Scientific Manager (
Cardiovascular drugs), Hoechst Marion Roussel Pharma AG (now Sanofil-Aventis
). He moved to National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1998 and worked as
Lee Kuan Yew Research Fellow/Principal Investigator and late as Associate
Professor at the Dept. of Pharmacology, NUS. In 2005, Prof. Zhu was
appointed as Dean of School of Pharmacy and Director, Institute of Drug R&D,
Fudan University. Prof. Zhu published more than 90 SCI papers with more
than 1120 citations and edited 2 books for the natural products research and
received good recognition in this area. He is an editor and reviewer for
several international scientific journals. Meanwhile, he serves also as
External Expert/evaluator for Centre of drug evaluation, HSA (Singapore) and
SFDA (China). He holds several US, China patents for the drug discovery and
extensively involved for drug R&D. One cardioprotective drug has been
successfully launched in Singapore. Dr. Zhu was awarded National
Distinguished Young Scientists Grant in 2008 and National Chief Scientist
for 973 project and National Drug Discovery platform in 2009.

researchers from overseas. For those individuals with no special
connection, given the reality in China, the best strategy is to stay
overseas, get recognized, and then return. If they return immediately with a
fresh PhD or postdoc experience, they may get a miserable offer (and then
a miserable life). Actually it doesn't make any sense at all for them,
because
they may get a good research position in the US and the pay is 10-15 times
higher. |
