better ERA+. Kluber's WAR is a bit better. That's why the race turned out
to be so close.
I do not think Win is a major factor anymore after Hernandz won it last time

and there is nowhere close to a dominant streak that last almost half a
season.
If the old record were 15, then you can argue 16 is not historically great,
but Felix
broke the record by a huge margin. Look at Kershaw, number-wise there is
nothing
special about Kluber's year except the fact that he comes out of nowhere.

less than 2 ERs for longer than 7 innings. Baseball is a number's game.
When you put in too many filters, something will come out.
There is no denying that Felix had a great year. I am just saying that if we
evaluate these two players based on the whole season, their performances
are comparable. Neither runs away.

Although Kluber's ERA is a little bit worse than King, but that is the
result of the ballpark and team defense. Mariners ranked 13th in defense in
2014 season while Indians ranked 29th! Also, Safeco Field is known as a
pitcher friendly ballpark while the Indians's ballpark is neutral. If you
look at fWAR and FIP, Kluber excels.
King Felix has a career BABIP 0.295, however, his BABIP is an incredible 0.
258. In other words, he is pretty lucky this year,which results his great
ERA.
Overall, I think it is a judgement call to choose between the two
and if I am a voter, I might have choose King. But I really think that
Kluber deserves the CY award this year. It is a good, not bad decision, nor
terrible.

significantly better ERA+ than Kluber.
