there will be another manager as stupid to walk such a player so many
times. He handed out free passes like Obman hands out bailouts. |

he got a great NLCS just as Cruz did in ALCS
who knows what he could have done if you did not give him those free passes
after game 3, I dont think anybody else in Washington's position would
have challenged him. At least, his first HR in that game was critical.
that 1 hit in other 6 games started the 9th inning rally aginst the opponent
closer, without that, Freeze and Berkeman might have not got the chance
to come through in game 6.

Yes a great NLCS where he hit 2 homers in 6 games. That must be
as great as Cruz's 6 homers in 6 games.
passes

Yes, nobody knows what he could have done, but one thing for sure:
Pujols would never hit a 2run homer with bases empty in the first inning
of game 7. Please enlighten me why Pujols was IBB after Harrison easily
retired the first 2 and had momentum on their side?
Washington dared to pitch to Pujols in the first 2 games. After that
3HR BS, Washington simply cowarded to make sure he wouldn't be blamed
if Pujols hurt him in key moments. So he elected to give Pujols free passes
when it was obvious that Pujols didn't have very good timing the whole
series.

I would say a 1.469 OPS in NLCS is as great as a 1.713 OPS in ALCS.
Both are great numbers. I dont see problems giving free passes to either
of them.
not an IBB, Harrison just failed to get Pujols
the free pass to Pujols worked when you have Holliday behind him getting
those GIDP and SO. Washington needs to be blamed by many other moves, but
I dont see a problem giving Pujols free passes.

You know what 8 consecutive balls against Pujols and Berkman mean,
don't you? Those were not borderline pitchers that Harrison missed
by 1-2 inches.
Putting tying run for free to challenge Freese, isn't that a good idea?
Don't tell me after game 6, other managers would have still seeing
Freese as a nobody.

free pass to either Pujols or Berkman.

even get any pitch close to K zone.

However, 如果红鸟把berkman和pujols调一下顺序估计就没这些说道了。

I think by this day, we should have all agreed upon the fact that this is
destiny. A lot of very rare things in baseball happened with Cardinals over
the last two months. And they almost all turned to be favorable to the
Cardinals. You can choose not to believe. But I do. haha

can also think of it as a continuous stream of good luck. you need things to
go your way, your blooper dropping for base hits, their line drives hitting
right into your defense, crap like that.

would feel comfortable to repeat this kind of craps in the future.
