had given up AT LEAST 5 runs in 6 of 7 recent games put your team
in an 0-4 hole even before your team has one at bat.
It was an even better decision to give up 3 run homer to a hot guy,
who was not only 9/16, but also had already homered in each of
2 games played in that stadium.
Yet, that's still not the best decision of all. Freese was challenged
again to rally 3 more 1 out runs with GIDP stud Molina getting a free pass.

If Mil’s manager let Gallardo start game 6 on 3 days rest, then Wolf needs
to start game 7 on 3 days also...the chance of two struggling pitchers on
short rest to beat a hot STL team two games in a row is very slim.
To start Macum who has the potential to beat STL, gives Gallardo full rest
to start game 7, and btw Eddy Jackson ain’t no Sandy koufax either.
If the rest of Mil’s pitching staff have done their job properly to hold
STL at 4,5,6 runs, Mil would still have a chance to win game 6.
That’s why sometimes the manager made the right decision, but the team
still lost.

发帖数: 13310 | 11 As crappy as Marcum pitched, if either Marcum or Narveson pitched
around Freese, the game would still be a close one. So it's totally
manager's fault. Trailing 4-6 in the 3rd inning is not a big deal.
With 1 out, slow Molina following, it was a no-brainer to walk Freese.
That double plus IBB to Molina opened the door for Cards.
And there is no need to start Gallardo on game 6. Narveson should
be fine if the manager did his homework.
There is no fxxxing reason to start an elimination game with a guy
who pitched like shit in 6 of the recent 7 games. There were so many
alternatives. Even Estrada couldn't be any worse than Marcum.
