be honest, it is very difficult to be a Red Sox Fan after 2011.
Too much downs and no ups.(ok, Lackey to TJ counts as 1 up) We almost locked
playoff but still failed.
What a meltdown story in 2011!

St Louis won 105 games in regular season. Best team ever from hitter No. 2 to 7.
Larry Walker, Albert, Scott Rolen, Jim Edmond, Reggie Sanders, Matt Matheny.
We had three Ace pitchers (Matt Morris/Woody Williams/Chris Carpenter) and
wonderful closer (Jason Isringhausen) and Dan Heren/Al Reyes as relievers.
Guess what, after 20 years not in WS, Cardinals were too nervous. Lost 0-4
to Red Sox. It should be a 2-2 game.
Boston made its name in 2000 to 2010 by beating Yankees consistently.

and "Jason Isringhausen" in one sentence. It was a really easy sweep.
Cards never led for one minute through 36 innings.
I can't imagine why it should be 2-2.

into aces. I just looked up, their ERA were 4.72 and 4.18 in 04.
What kind of aces were those.

发帖数: 41 | 14 I sort of agree with you about the ERA. I think Cardinals hitters were very
good in 2004 to help pitchers win. However, with the small payroll in STL,
Matt Morris and Woody Williams were the best pitchers STL could get. I
still
remember how Schillings and Johnson were dorminat those years in Arizona.
But like Apotical said, sometime the number on paper does not mean anything.
You always cheers for the winners.

包括Craig(.315?)这样的替补。火力方面可能不如2004，年青人太多。今年WS的第四、
五两场非常令人困惑，1 for 16 with RISP。不过现在好像momentum又回来了。

因为Carp受伤无缘WS. PITCHING 远不能 MATCH 石墩.
