Our Client has been an industry leader in motion control systems and
components for commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, missiles,
spacecraft, marine craft and ground vehicles since 1933. Their line of
products are widely used throughout the world. Applications include primary,
secondary and other control actuators; fuel and pneumatic systems; gun
stabilization and fire control systems; and automated test and diagnostic
systems.
This position is in the Weapons and Defense Side of the Business. Products
manufactured or Systems either guide weapons (missiles) or control aiming of
a military product. The Position will also manage engineering project
budgets and schedules through close coordination with the program manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to lead a project team through the steps of design,
development, qualification and production is critical.
• Ability to lead internal research and development efforts on
advanced concepts and technologies are a benefit.
• The Position shall be able to solve problems efficiently and achieve
the program goals.
Desirable Qualifications:
• Project or solid overall system engineering experience working
electromechanical actuation systems in an aerospace environment.
• Minimum of five years in design, analysis and development of
electromechanical actuators, with emphasis on mechanical transmission
components and packaging or similar product design..
• Experience in performing stress, kinematics, tolerance and thermal
analysis.
• Familiarity with gears, ballscrews, motors, sensors and bearings is
highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of machine design, material properties, heat
treatment, finishes, manufacturing processes and electronic packaging.
• Strong communication capabilities is essential; experience in
writing reports and preparing presentations.
• Experience in leading a technical team is important.
• Experience with Aerospace test environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with MS Excel, MathCAD, MS Project and CAD is essential.
• Specific experience with missile control systems or Aircraft flight
control or stabilization systems is desirable.
Education: BSME or equivalent engineering degree required. Masters degree is
preferred.
