it sounds all right, but actually, no one can make it precisely
with bare hand.
if you want to fix it completely, try HELICOIL.
It can even fix the stripped spark plug hole and save an engine
and widely used in aircraft industry for high quality thread fixing.
the step is a kind of similar! drill a larger hole, use special tap
to make temp thread. Then turn helicoil insert in with special drive.
