But it wasn't the company's bread-and-butter cars that were moving the
needle. Sales of the Honda Accord were down 18 percent, while the Civic
slipped 5 percent.
Honda needed a hit and it got one with the HR-V, a stubby little SUV it
started selling in May. We reviewed the car a few weeks ago and really liked
it, particularly its looks and "magic" folding seats. American consumers
seemed to agree, because they snapped up 14,141 HR-Vs in a matter of weeks. | u****q
