，但是还好，因为是晚上，所以横向没有车过往，这个路口也没有红路灯，只有一个
stop sign。然后不知道在哪里蹲了一个学校警察，一会儿就冲上来把拦下来了，然后
开了罚单，罚单的原因是“disregard traffic sign”，然后上网查了下，罚了大概
160美金。但是罚单上面明确写了要我出庭，所以请教各位，这个罚单会扣分吗？然后
如果我不出庭可以吗？如果出庭，罚单能免掉一部分吗？谢谢了！ |

the same price, no points of moving violation.
this is called a 'plea bargain'.
if you take the 'bargain', you pay the ticket, then it is over. no record.
if you don't like the deal, you can say no, then there will be a trial
between you and the popo, in front of a judge who might be the uncle of the
popo's wife's cousin. |

another scenario: if you go to trial, and if the policeman does not show up
, you win. however, some local stupid court will reschedule.
i feel that the policeman may not show up, but you need to do some research.
for example, go to the court when you have time and chat with other people
there, or even ask those who dress like a lawyer to get some information on
how the court operates.
