x3 is more fun to drive and maneuver more precisely over corners, it is
faster even with 4-cylinder engine and with better mpg. x3 also has more
reasonable interior space, especially the back seat, about same space as Q5.
it is not quite comfortable to sit in the back seat of glk350, and it is
almost impossible to sit 3 adults in glk350's back seat.
i can only think of two pros of glk350 comparing to x3:
1) it is probably 3k-5k cheaper for similar configuration
2) it drives "softer" -- less sporty, which maybe good for elder passengers
i also personally like the look of glk350 better ... but that is just me, i
know a lot of other ppl thinks the opposite :)

bmw has 4-year free maintenance though

feels less like a luxurious car, but more of a sporty feel.
mb has a more luxurious feel with a lot of wooden trim/decor.
that would differ on your exact configuration too...i prefer bmw's dash/
wheels, but i can understand why many ppl would like the feel/touch of mb...
this kind of things is always personal, one should see the car in person to
decide.
