Just bought new 2012 Honda Odyssey EX in Phoenix AZ area. I post quote
request in http://www.edmunds.com/ and http://www.truecar.com.
6-9 dealer responds and only three dealer provide quote($28400/28600/28900),
rest of them ask me to visit them. I then ask the out of door price for
those 3 quotes , and find the lowest one doesn't provide the option cost,
the second lowest one is straightforward. However that dealer is far way
from my home -- about 60 miles away. So i forward their quote to nearby
Honda dealer, and one of nearby dealer say can't match, the others just say
they can beat it, but ask me to visit.
I do need get the van over the weekend, and don't believe those nearby
dealer's word. So I drove to that far away dealer to get the car.
Here is the tricky part, I have a some bad record in my credit report due to
my short sale in 2010, though my credit score is good(700+). Nothing to
talk in van sale price, but finance give me 3.9% which i am expecting 0.9% 5
year. I told them either 0.9% or i pay cash. Finally they give me 0.9%. I
also bought 7 year 70K Miles warranty for $1300 -- salesman ask $1800 and i
saw some post that he paid 1200, but i am in the hurry so don't argue it
much and accept 1300.
The most interesting part is the final paper show the var is 29600, and
Honda paid 1000. The sales said it is rebate because i financed through
Honda. I don't see any factory rebate in this season, not sure what is going
on. BTW, it is base model with only option is tinted the window -- sun is
very strong here, tint is a must have.
In paper, $29600 -1000(Honda rebate)+ 500(license/registration) + 400(doc) +
2600(sale tax) + 1300(warranty) = $33400.
Hope this will help anyone want to buy Odyssey EX. |
