市（Brampton）的Queen St夹Williams Pkwy 附近发生2车相撞事故，1名妇女当场身亡
，另外2人严重受伤，肇事者自己也受了轻伤。
皮尔区警方（Peel Regional Police）表示，肇事青年为18岁的特纳(Brian Turner)，
他未经父母同意驾驶他们的蓝色福特车外出，而被撞车内则是一对夫妻，一家人为了过
圣诞节多挣点钱而送报，41岁妻子陪着45岁驾车的丈夫，结果妻子当场身亡、丈夫重伤
。从CTV电视台晚间新闻的镜头可见，现场报纸撒满一地，还有一只女式保暖靴。据悉
他们为斯里兰卡移民，死者遗下10岁的女儿和5岁的儿子。警方相信特纳醉酒驾车，将
其逮捕之后控以包括驾车导致他人死亡、危险驾驶导致死人命、醉酒驾驶导致他人受伤
以及未经车主同意驾驶其车辆等5项罪名。

The crash impact was so powerful that the passenger in the Civic,
Sivanermaikkarasi Parameswaran, was ejected from the car. She landed several
metres down the road and was pronounced dead by first responders. |

had been thrown out from the
vehicle.
