what a waste of my time and my company's money!
If and only if Excel 2007 was available, the work would have been reduced to
1 second! The limit of 65,xxx rows in Excel is just killing me (and lots of
co-workers had/have to deal with it as well)! We want Excel 2007! (with
basically unlimited number of rows)!!!
eek......one of our "top" actuaries is trying to tell the IT people how
important it is to get us Excel 2007 asap! | s***8

The largest excel sheet (ver 2003) I ever worked with is about 700MB. That
sheet ate all my physical memory and made my PC frozen for hours. I bet we
can get even bigger spreadsheet from excel 2007. So you may need a computer
with huge memory as well....

freezes all the time especially with multiple pivot tables and lots of
vlookup's. Those vlookup's just eat up memories.... =(
And we run out of rows all the times as well......at least that won't be a
problem with the new Excel 2007. =)
I am so used to Excel freezing. I just go to task manager, find the process
and set priority to "high" Then, you wait for a few minutes (even though
Excel reads "not responding"), usually

Access can handles larger data. I did learn a lot about Access after I

发帖数: 629 | 6 I have been using access for a long long time and I actually know how to
code in SQL and did that as an intern.
The thing is that what I am working on right now requires a lot of "
calculations" which would be very painful to do in Access. I am not exactly
working with a database, well, I guess, in a way it is, since those are all
claim/experience stuff. But Access doesn't have the ability to produce a
pivot table like thing as does Excel.
Actually, SAS is the best option for what I am working o | m****e

pivot function in Access doesn't work well, but you can still start with
Excel, when asking for data, you point it to Access. You probably already
know this. I agree, it is still not as good as just using Excel to do

mortality several time before reaching the final conclusion. So I will need
to paste in mortality from an external source constantly which is easy with
a sheet in excel and everything being formula driven. With access, I need to
manually re-run the queries etc......(the formulas/links won't update
itself......since it's already read into the table).
Well, I guess I could write a macro in Access to make it work...but it
