feeling is that some Taiwannese partners/managers do not exhibit high level
of professionalism and expertise I would expect from Big 4. I would expect
higher quality of services from these people:
PwC Eugenia Rao
EY Jessica Tien
EY Lynn Wang
I chatted with a big 4 senior partner, and his comment is that lack of solid
training (graduation from a top accredited accounting program) and lack of
exposur to complex business issues are the main concerns.
Big 4 recruited and promoted them mainly because their Taiwan and mandarin
background. |

was born in Zhejiang and educated at Harvard and Stanford in the U.S.
Taiwan's economic development and prosperity were relying on mainland.
Manufacturing, buy, and sell.
"Outsourcing shoe manufacturing industry to Africa" is Taiwan's strategic
direction.
Taiwan's democracy is a messy one, especially the corrupted first elected
Pesident Chen.
Accountants only need to comply accounting/tax rules on the surface. No need
to know anything outside that box. |

P and K. Based on my experience at these two firms, Taiwanese CPAs do not
provide good quality service as do mainlanders. The quality of people differ
. The talent pool is much deeper in mainland than Taiwan (1.3 billion vs. 23
million people). Two Berkeley graduates, one from Taiwan, and one from
mainland. In normal situation, it's a lot easier to get into Berkeley from
Taiwan than from mainland.
As far as the partners mentioned in previous posts, they do not had good
reputation in the small CPA world. Some good people now refuse to work for/
with them. One partner can only works with people transfer in from other
firms/regions. |

traditional good accounting programs such as USC left PWC San Francisco. She
is Taiwannese and she only uses mainlanders to get clients. The Taiwannese
in her tax team does horrible work. |

They follow rules and regulations. As a result,they elected corrupted Mr.
Chen as president.
Besides selling pricy low quality service and products, Taiwan is selling
corrutption to mainland. Next on their agenda, they will sell their
corrupted messy democracy. |

unprofessional to disclose the names of the service provider in a public
forum. The post has racial profiling which is not appropriate at the
minimum, if not illegal. Not all the partners in big four are experienced
in every subject of technical issues. That is why they have national office
consultation group to deal with the high risk complex issues. If you are
concerned of the quality of the service, you should follow the proper
channel to raise your concern through the service provider. Or if you have
enough authority in the organization, you can convince the audit committee
to change the auditor. |

corporate tax or corporate accounting. One of her corporate clients sued her
for unsatisfactory work. |
