83 | 4 From my experience, it is very important.
Most of time the company that you do your intern will hire you. If you can
get a chance to have internship with big four, usually you will end up
having an offer. There are rare cases that student have internship with
company who didn't have an offer.
If I were you, I would rather take less classes, this will delay your
graduation, but what good will it do if you graduate early without a job or
end up a sloppy job? I had ten something interviews at my last semester, I
had a very good chance to land at a decent firm. but I ruin it because I was
working 20 hours and take five hard senior classes. I'm not genius, I
ruined all my opportunities because I wasn't able to preparer the interview
well. One time I had to leave a pre-interview dinner for my fed tax class.
Now I think about it, I regret it.
And it become harder to get an interview after you left school for entry
level position unless you have 3-5 years experience, you can apply as
experience instead of entry-level.
I would say, depends on your school, if big four recruit from your school
and you have a decent GPA and some leadership activity(if you don't have now
, join a club now) and good communication and interview skills, you shouldn'
t miss this chance at all.
I had interview with all big four, but I ruin all of them. and they keep
record on their candidates profile, basically,it will be very hard to get a
second interview with them because the interview record and profile that
they have for me. So,if you got an interview with them, try your best and
always be prepared.I didn't really take it serious at all.
Also, if you have been working during your school year, it helps too. But do
your internship ASAP | s*****d 发帖数: 1749 | | I*****e 发帖数: 319 | | m**y 发帖数: 191 | 7 This is a difficult question when you are in school and have status issue.
My experience is I tried to take classes rather than spent much time landing
an internship in summer & winter break. As a result, I will have more time
to prepare CPA exam during semester & OPT.
My considerations:
1. In term of current job market, an internship does not necessarily lead to
a "H1-B" offer.
2. For some reason, you have to go back to your country. Passing all CPA
subjects/license will credit you.
3. You carry CPA license/certificate for the rest of your life. The earlier
you tackle CPA, the more relieved you feel.
4. CPA exam only becomes more complicated. I bet you won't like to take an
exam that is more unpleasant in the future. So, do it now..
Remember that sometimes you need to give up one to gain one, whichever is
much important to your planning.

important. Good Luck! | o**o 发帖数: 408 | | u********d 发帖数: 437 | 10 I personally think that having an internship experience is more important
than passing CPA before you graduate. People usually take CPA when they
cannot find a intern/job. | a**s 发帖数: 10 | 11 VERY important. My internship experiences helped me a lot in landing my
current job. |
