6月23日，他以裸分645分成为江西上饶广丰区高考理科状元，由于通过了清华大学的自主招生考试，这个农家孩子还额外获得40分加分，总成绩达到685分。
一分不多一分不少，这个分数恰恰也是清华大学7月16日在其本科招生网公布的在江西省的理科录取分数线。
分数出炉后，清华大学招生组还给王希的老师发了短信：“王希的分数上清华没问题。”
“感觉自己半只脚都跨进清华大门了。”王希说，他甚至专门做起了家教，希望“努把力挣够清华第一年的学费”。
可这双常常行走在泥泞山路的脚还是被挡在了清华园外。两天后的7月18日，江西省教育考试院公布清华大学理科调档线为686分。
从天而降的一分之差，砸懵了这个17岁男孩，也令他落榜清华。
