Evern doing PhD will generally take 5-6 yeas in china, and 5 - N years in US

When people graduated in year 2008, they call themselves as old FMGs.
When people graduated from year 2007 to year 2000, they call themselves as
old FMGs, too.
When people graduated from year 2000 to year 1990, they definitely called
themselves old FMGs.
No mention those who graduated before year 1990.
The question is who the real old FMGs are.
The successful Match stories from YOG 2008 person is different from the
stories from YOG1990 one, right?

印度申请人相对比我们年轻许多，他们yog 5年就算是老img拉。但他们也有很多match
不上，有一位今年是4进宫终于进了。我个人觉得我们cmg的research是非常占优势的，
因为很多community program也希望你们以后进fellow为他们添光的， university的就
更不用提了。从今年来看，老cmg如果有strong research+externship,机会还是蛮大的
，当然connection最重要，但
不是你想要有就有的，我觉得connection最难。老cmg要有信心，如果program只看中年
轻的话，早没有我们什么份了。还有印度人都是没毕业/一毕业就考了，所以人家破釜
沉舟，没有第二条路，一年不行2年，2年不行3年，externship一直做下去，也没有家
庭拖累，这也是他们比我们进去多的多的最重要原因之一。大家好运！ |

要求 YOG<10yrs, or even <5 yrs. 我是老毕业生〉15yrs.
1。我该不该申请这些programs在ＮＹＣ, ＮＪ，ＰＡ有年限要求的program?
2。对我这种既没临床经验，又老的人，是不是应该把所有NYC的programs都申请了？
3。按照IMG friendly list上，不要求毕业年数的有140个(但ＮＹＣ不过２５个）。我
是该按这个list申请，还是该按地域， 把NYC，NJ， PA这些机会最大的地方，不管毕
业年数的要求，全部申请呢？哪个机会会更大？

去早, 几率大, 但来不及看别的. 去晚,pre-match会发完.
你那10月底部11月初时间段应该留给最想去的program.
如果是我,就用10/21或更早去练手.主攻后面更好的. .
贴一下USMLE, YOG, 有无PHD, 文章或科研.慌看看要不要急着把自己贱卖了. |

chapter,Poster 若干，AACR上做过一个oral presentation (是我老板让给我讲得），
国内有几篇1st author paper, 美国这边还木有呢。没有病理OB。 |

IMG,non-native English speaker，long YOG的缺陷，所以既要有毅力又要适度灵活。

发帖数: 704 | 46 前几天好不容易CK分数出来了， 达到了自己承诺写经历的99的目标，所以现在回顾一
下复习准备经过，一来是如今有些疲倦的我对自己的小结和鼓励，二来是回报我在论坛
上看到的考经，和考友们的帮助吧。
YOG >>10年。 去年7月初宣言考试然后准备报名。 在去年9月30日，发现ECFMG报名接
受后， 就把CS的时间定在今年5月14日，保证7月中以前出成绩（其实后来才发现可以
最晚7月初考CS也可以）。计划从7月中旬开始看书 （STEP1 FA, 弱项KAPLAN解剖开始
）， 7-8个月，Step 1在二月中到三月中旬考。 Step2 CK计划八月中旬到八月底考，
那样能九月出成绩， 赶上MATCH. 事实上是Step1 是拖到3月底考完， CS勉强按计划
考完通过（一惊一咋的）， CK因为改题型推迟出成绩，就临时赶在8月2日考， 希望8
月份出成绩 （结果偷鸡不成， 碰上新题型， 9月28日才出成绩）。跌跌撞撞，总算是
按计划完成。 加上ERAS MATCH的申请，整整15个月。虽然整个package有待提高，但基本已经完成。
能努力的，我已经尽量学会去努力了。
