尤其是80－90年代，全世界都在开发数据库
后来00年开始，app server开始剥离数据库的逻辑
ibm就是通过转型做app server爬起来的
当时oracle吓得要死，因为犹太人看明白了
觉得只做数据库最后死无葬身之地，就赶紧转身
自己也开始搞app server，但是跟ibm什么不在一个档次上
甚至比不过微软的.net，再后来觉得不行，自己搞没那个实力
怎么办？买，先想买jboss，jboss不从，然后强行收购bea
老庄气死了，不过没办法，再那之后，sun混不下去了
想卖给ibm，ibm觉得贵，不要，oracle接盘了
然后m$的.net也慢慢不行了，因为web起来了
一堆流行产品轻量级的东西爬起来了，amazon为代表的web公司开始挑战ibm了
再后来的故事就都清楚了，数据库早不是什么发展重点了
os就更没谱了，这些东西都过气n*10年了

，自己有备份。
运营商自己找人开发的计费系统，把CDR放到数据库里。用oracle是因为性能好，不用
也没啥大不了。移动系统核心和oracle一点关系都没有。

学分数不就不就等价与在校小时数？
一般的课程3分或者4分，你一学期16分，至少上8个学期才能毕业吧。如果按120分算的
话。
工程之类的由于课多，可能要求上完指定科目，而不是按学分算。文科有些水专业，比
如XXX STUDIES这种的好多需要去跨专业拿课，满足要求。
CONTINUOUS RESIDENCE HOURS，没听说过。。。理论上你可以上一个学期休一个学期，
甚至一年两年之类的。只不过超过一个学期，一般学校会让你写个REENTRY
APPLICATION。
DSB说得对，你在校上学达到FULL TIME(12学分)的目的是保持I20也就是F1签证的合法
性。有些学校要求你（不管是不是留学生）必须达到每学期12学分才可以。最后一学期
可以申请REDUCED WORKLOAD来做PART TIME |

今早，联想否认在3GPP的5G标准表决上没有投票中国企业主导（华为的Polar短码）的
方案，称包括联想旗下的摩托罗拉移动，所投的都是赞成票。
事情起因是昨日晚间，网络社交平台不断出现“联想为什么不给华为投票”、“联想不
支持Polar方案”、“因为联想站队高通，最终导致华为以微弱差距输了。”等内容帖
子。
实际上，这并非最近才发生的事情，而是在2016年11月3GPP举办的一次5G讨论会上。
在那场名为“3GPP RAN1 87次会议”的5G短码方案讨论中，华为公司的Polar Code（极
化码）方案最终胜出(战胜高通的LDPC码)，成为5G控制信道eMBB场景编码最终方案。
3GPP是一个国际组织，旨在为通信系统制定全球适用技术规范和技术报告，从2G、3G、
4G、到即将开启的5G，每一代网络都有对应的技术标准和规范。通常，技术标准的研究

当然实话实说算法只占 10% 到 20% 的 workload。但核心算法如果不 work 的话，其
他都是白搭。
马工实用算法不是因为常用，而是因为 single point of failure，不 work 就洗洗睡
了就好了。

然都是专门搞算法的人花上好长时间后完成的论文，你非要人在45分钟内做完给出答案
？这也导致面试普遍刷题，而不注重基础知识。我最近面了以个人，估计leetcode上刷
了不少题，结果我就问他最基本的基础性题目，用非递归的方式做树的遍历，就掐住了
。其实这就是数据结构里最最基本的关于树的知识而已。

首先祝大家Happy New Year。小妹第一次在这个版发言，请大哥大姐们多多包涵。
我是个干了6年活的码工。第一代移民，tier 3大学BS/MS，成绩工作都还算过得去，不
是最差那种，但也不是出类拔萃，没得过成就奖之类的荣衔，也没出过paper。
现在做了6年苦工感觉仍是原地踏步，职称没有升，workload有增但responsibility似
乎没有，领导也没有培养做PM或promote上principal级的意图，自我感觉仍是个可有可
无的小工。
现在想回校深造，但不知MBA这条路是否可行和值得，求建议。
转眼间已经工作了6年了，我都30多了，但仍无多少成就，也没看到有成为管理层或高
级技术人员的迹象，觉得这行当或许是不适合我，无论是因为我不够强还是这个大环境

We did see some retired people in RV camping site but not many, a lot more
are young family with little kids indeed.
Each SUV with towing capability already addressed all your concerns, such
as transmission cooling, even sway control etc.
As long as you didn't exceed the car spec and have proper setup, it's save
to town for both of you and your car, no matter diesel and petrol.
