There is a restaurant selling twin lobster. The pier is behind the
restaurant. We bought the crab trap at a bait shop in Winthrop. But you can
google bait shop in Boston or Hull and call them first to see if they have
any crab trap for sale. Use some string to tie the chicken legs and a sea
fish to the trap and put a stone inside to make the trap stable at the

发帖数: 1938 | 6 昨天最重要的也是对大跳舞影响最大的一场可能就是MVC的两支领头羊的争夺了。（MVC: missouri valley conference）昨天的结果再次证明mvc将会是2 big conference.
kansas州的第三强队wichita state在主场小胜头羊北iowa. 第三年教练gregg
marshall终于要带着shockers再次跳舞了。他能把winthrop从默默无闻的小球队带到
big south的annual winner确实不简单，如今又帮shockers完成了turgeon走后的延续
，下一站不知道会不会去nc state接班。
扯了这半天，有人能告诉我shockers 是啥意思不？ 不准wiki, google,估计大家都跟
我一样，两眼一摸黑。再提示一下，kansas和nebraska类似，都是种粮大户。
恩，是不是想到了huskers? 接近了，原来shockers是抖麦子的意思。顺便上个麦穗头。 |

Mike Brey是个好教练，能够把一大堆没星的球员带出来，连续进跳舞，在大东的常规
赛也有不俗战绩，特别主场成绩好得变态。可是到了各类Tournament，中立球场，需要
球星的时候，就抓瞎。习惯了，对于一个Football学校，这样的教练是最fit的吧，不
烂，不投降，也不抢风头…… |

thing is I HATE wating 15 minutes for food after climb. And most people
sitting there look nice and clean. Don't like to be the only one there,
being pulled from mud...
I had breakfast in Mazama Country Inn. Pricy and so-so food. 15 miuntes
further is winthrop. Tons of (OK, tens of) good restaurants there. Oh, and a
hunderd year old ice cream shop!

技术方面就不提了，反正网上都有，八卦为主。
本来呢，这次计划很美好，5天时间呆在Boston Basin，先后爬Forbidden Peak/West
Ridge, Mt Torment / S Ridge, Mt Buckner/N Face, 一个CC，一个Ice Credit，啥都
齐了。
结果还是计划赶不上变化，周三早上六点赶到Ranger Station，领队说Cascade Pass天
气大差，雷暴加上雨天，要不大家找个石头cragging几天算了。同学们很不甘心地一路
往东开，先开到Washington Pass，早上下雨石头还没干，远方一团雷暴云正在酝酿中
。接着往东开到Mazama Rocks，说不然crag一天打道回府。几个人都是好不容易腾出来
五天时间的，哪能这么甘心束手就擒呀，在小店里头喝咖啡的时候就有人提议说要不咱
们一直再往东开，开到大提顿公园去爬大提顿吧。几个人面面相觑地互相打量打量，就
这么决定了。继续往东开到Winthrop，某人的智能手机终于有了数据信号，看看天气貌

找出03年就买的MOUNTAINEERING书,又买了MIKE的RAINIER GUIDE.
从这个版上各位的帖子学到很多.也看YOUTUDE关于RAINIER的录像.
7月回国,就计划在西雅图停2天,体验一下.登顶不重要,就想去体验GLACIER是怎么回
事.
7月2号晚10点到西雅图朋友家,吃晚饭,装BACKPACK,把带的装备和衣服,食物都装好
,发现太重了,但又怕冷,怕饿.就决定还是全背上.
目标CAMP SCHURMAN, EMMONS/WINTHROP
3号8点到PARK OFFICE, 发现CLIMBING PERMITS忘到朋友家了. 折腾近2小时,从PARK的
系统里查出了我4月买好的PERMITS. 10点开始爬,朋友陪我走了3迈的TRAIL.
就开始自己SOLO了.
往GLACIER BASIN这段路很难走,河边很窄的土路上有小碎石,很滑,然后就是大石子
路,这时候换上了登山靴,好很多,但背着大包,保持平衡还是会很费劲.

中途在临近Chelan船停留的最后一站时，进入一团云雾中，气温骤降至零下几度，当地
人全穿厚厚的羽绒服和毛衣。但到达Chelan后拨云见日，一片晴朗。那里的North
Cascades NP Visitor Center的工作人员告知，周五North Cascades的山上下了今年

北边Lynnwood也不错，地方大，房价便宜，生活舒适，环境好。

去面试的时候，那里有个fellow住在42街附近。其他的fellow大多住在long island,
westchester county.他们都是坐火车加地铁来commute的。单程一小时吧。
不过他们都说不能住在医院附近。 |

先写个纽约租房子的简易版心得：
1.首先要想明白，租房的需要。单身汗还是家有父母小孩，空间大小，neightbourhood
需求是完全不同的。然后上班的远近？交通的方便安全？etc。
2.先在网上看好几个地方。也可以找broker（收费15% 1 year rental或者一个月房租
），事先与他交流，一来二去的邮件，他能更明白你想要的。broker是地头蛇，他带你
看一天，可以获得很多很多信息。及时最后没成交，也算是交个朋友。
3.向总住院当面询问租住房信息。人家很忙，邮件是不回的，趁去医院的时候，逮着机
会赶紧问。他几句话，可以省下很多功夫上网research。
4.纽约租房 background check相当严格，提前带齐所需材料（问broker需要什么材料

一年一度的申请已经尘埃落定，名花各个有主了。大大的恭喜各位match或者prematch
的同学。不过在高兴之余，希望各位能够把自己去年的iv list贴出来，为明年的申请
者指路。如果能够写出自己什么时候交的申请，什么时候certified，每个IV什么时候
拿到的就更好了。多谢多谢。
如愿意匿名发表的，可以考虑PM到斑竹信箱 。如能够同时标注Credential则更佳。
(最好写上每一个iv什么时候拿到的，当然没有纪录或者太麻烦也就算了)
