按中国目前的财力，不妨也设个奖；与其人之道还治其人之身。我也可以预言，会有不
少“兄弟”，像当初摇着红书那样来领奖，就此而已。
你看出了苏联人和中国人得奖的相似性，你的预言可能是对的。但是，你确实是没有看
到BIG PICTURE。无论那时的苏联还是今日的中国，都是专制的国家。他们的专制统治
是落后的。全球的人都应该去促进专制统治的结束才对。
如果不久的将来，中国人少得了诺贝尔奖，切换来了人应有的自由；我们会报怨吗？

莫言得诺奖,的确让一些人大跌眼镜,因比他好的大陆作家大有人在,比如博主不以
为然的贾平凹等, 莫言早期作品如《透明的红萝卜》,《红高梁》, 《 红耳朵》等的确
有特色,有吸引力, 带有浓厚的乡土气息.
他的短篇小说比中长篇写得好,但后来近期的小说写得就越来越难看了,而且让人看不太
明白,难道是江郎才尽?

中吸取教训，为明年的成功做准备（别忘了，还有半年又要开始新一轮了）。
没有面试：
1）是不是投的申请不够多（之前有人只申请了五个学校），或者是重点搞错了。有可
能是投高了，但也有可能是投低了（注意，好的学校要的人，差的学校未必看得上）。
2）硬件不够，那就赶快加强，还有半年了，别这么刷email耗时间，半年后一点儿改进
也没有，那明年不还是没戏？请所有还在等消息的同胞都注意这点。有pending paper
赶快投出去。
3）申请package没搞好，文章写的不好，推荐信不好，等。
面试不成：
1）对学校/系/老师了解不够。
2）与人交往有硬伤，太过紧张，或太过嚣张。
3）给人感觉不够独立。研究太孤立，没有和人合作的可能性。但相反也很不好。我们
面过一个三哥，好像和谁都能拉上，但给人感觉他自己没有很想做的东西，完全是为了
应聘来的。PI首要的还是要做好自己。
4）纯运气或陪跑，就没办法了。但一定记住，不要随便归为4，否则你很难改进。

《Sled》这首滑雪诗很简单，但一个个单词沿雪坡爬上又滑下，终点再回到起点，给静

If you are well to do, you can go Pacific Northwest for the salmon run,
summer fishing in Maine, wintertime go with CaptainJay at Florida. Where you
live is not important.
In NC, fishing man only need 20 minutes to find a decent fishing spot, and
it is year round, they also have mountain and ocean to explore. I cannot see
another place like this. WA and OR has similar characteristics，but cold
and rainy in winter. |

很久以前，曾经在一个冬夜，去海边吹冷风。这次呢，是初夏午后的大海。看到那里的
人们都那样快乐，我也能感受到那种气氛。以前，一个朋友回国后，跟我在msn上说，
国内一切都方便，生活也走入正轨了。可是，最怀念的就是南加的金色沙滩。我一直生
