u can adjust in system properties --> performance-->file system-->
move the slide for restore to min.
or u can just disable this feature in troubleshoot -->check
the disable system restore

2 desktops, “A” has WinMe only, “B” have dual OS: WinMe and Win2K Sever,
want to hook them up with hub. some strange happen:
1. In “A” WinMe & “B” WinMe: “A” can see itself only and “B” can’t
see the workgroup at all (not accessible), but they can share printer and
internet.
2. In “A” WinMe & “B” Win2K: “A” “B” can see both in the workgroup,
but, “A” is not accessible by “B”; when “A” visit “B”, password is
required?? The internet and printer can be shared.

发帖数: 19 | 6 It's safe to delete all the stuff under windows/temp except
for WinME.
There is something about PCHealth in the same directory in
WinME which guides winME to properly shutdown (I guess).
But there is no problem for 98 and 2k so far as I find. Even
for winME, if you delete everything from windows/temp, just
remember to do a restart to restore the PCHealth info so
that you can shutdown properly. |

to W2k.
Then after installation, edit c:\boot.ini, get rid of winME and delete its
folder.
That's ALL.
But I recommend you keep WinME.
(1)MS does not allow a machine that has higher version of windows to install
a lower version of windows. So it'll be harder to install winME again on it.
I kept win98 on my computer although I have XP and 2003.

But what's not ok is the WinMe himself!
Everything runs perfect except, e.g. for a time, when
your system is shut down improperly and WinMe start scandisk
next time you restart, WinMe will think all the Chinese dir & file names
through HIS shit mind then change them into short or even illegal file names,
which means you will lose tons of Chinese named files & Dirs. That's it.//shrug

个设备，为了让SATA和PATA“融洽相处”，Intel 865PE芯片组的ICH5南桥提供了IDE通
道映射的办法。在BIOS中，找到IDE Configuration Menu这个选项，在Onboard IDE
Operate Mode下面可以选择两种IDE操作模式：兼容模式和增强模式（Compatible Mode
和Enhanced Mode）。其中Compatible Mode，可以理解为把SATA硬盘端口映射到PATA通
道的相应端口。你检测到的133MB/s正是因为在这里硬盘的模式被设为兼容模式了。现
在硬盘的速度瓶颈在于内部传输速率，并不在于接口的传输速率，所以这样设置并不会

同时也是v4.x的Windows还有Win95、Win98、Win98SE、WinME，不过这些都是基于DOS的
，是16位和32位混合的OS。
