最初我只有一个硬盘，sata,160G, 后来我买了个ide, 320G, 重装了windows xp, G:,把C；的windows 目录删了，但是其他未动。
我刚才发现我的windows xp虽然安装在G盘， primary ide, 但是它不是启动盘，是sata secondary那个160G里有boot.ini 是真正的C:, 然后它调入G盘的windows xp。我刚才fixboot C:, 才发现能够"直接"进入windows 了，又回到了先前那个状态了，开机直接进入windows xp。
所以，如果ubuntu grub/menu.lst里面有问题，我可以开机后edit，改掉。问题是，我安装ubuntu，应该注意什么? 到底应该让ubuntu grub改什么？

。打算直接把俩盘挂 linux box 上，windows 盘用只读来 mount，然后对 250G 盘分
区，再把 windows 盘 rsync -a 到 250G 盘上去，最后挂在 windows box 上，用启动
光盘修一下 MBR。
大家看看怎么样？有啥不靠谱的地方没？
另一个问题是，下周要进来一个 linux server，2X250G HD（准备拆一个到我的
windows box 上去）, 2X1G memory(也准备拆到我的 windows box 上去)，再过两周才
会到一个 750G HD，2X4G memory。所以可能要先装机，等新盘新内存到了后再烤盘。
同样的办法可以么？ |

为什么大多数人不愿意从Windows switch到Linux？真正烦人的不是os本身的learning
curve，而是换os，很多软件都得换，得重新适应
所以windows再烂，大多数人也不愿意改用linux
Linux，或者说oss真要在桌面系统取得成功，就该首先把所有拿得出手的app都port到
windows下，让人一个个尝试、习惯，觉得不错了，就会坚持用，这样的app多了，哪
天突然发现喜欢、习惯的app都有Linux版，再说换os的话，就没那么抵触了
ff就是个比较成功的例子
当然，我看很多Linux下面自称可以替代Windows下某某软件的app，不是不能而是不敢
port到windows的。现在没人用，可以自慰说因为用Linux的人少，要是到了Windows下
面人们还是宁可用付费或者盗版，而不用免费的，又有什么借口呢？ |

Update: There IS a problem when running vert.x java code. Sounds like
whenever launching /windows/system32/java.exe, this app tries to read the
jre settings
configured through "Java Configuration Applet"(under control pannel). From
there, it knows which java is active. However, I failed to use this applet

不管是打开IE（但firefox没事）还是我的电脑，立刻说，

但是IE和我的电脑根本打不开了。
今天莫名其妙的出现的。好像是在插了别人一个USB之后出现的（只是有可能）。

I am a new user of cygwin, and I got a telnet problem now.
I installed cygwin and it runs great. But when I try to run telnet in the
xterm windows, there is no response(shell prompt come out). Do you know what's
the problem?
Here is the detail:
1.type "cygwin" in dos window.
2.cygwin window pop out.
3.type "startx" in cygwin window.
4.xterm window pop out.
5.type "telnet" in xterm window.
6.another line of shell prompt come out.

最近升级电脑内存到4G, 情况如下：
Thinkpad T61, 2G+2G
Dell Dimension 5150, 4x1G
BIOS和硬件测试软件(比如Everest)都确定系统安装了4G内存
现在的问题是操作系统无法全部使用。
T61, 在Windows XP 32bit, Windows Server 2003 32bit, Linux 32/64bit
下都一样，只有3G
5150， 在Windows XP sp3 32bit, Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit/64bit,
Windows Server 2003 32bit, Linux 32bit/64bit下也都一样，
只有3.3G.
(以上的linux kernel中都配置了大内存的支持）

现用XP SP3 32bit,如果改成Windows 7 32bit，是不是会变慢？
如果改成Windows 7 32bit + ReadyBoost (用内置的SD card reader)，会比win 7 快
么？会明显比Xp快么？
2)
如果改成Windows 7 64bit但内存还是3gb，是不是比32bit没优势
64bit win7上面是不是32bit的程序还是都可以用的？

行了系统恢复，但之后就进入不了系统，显示为0xc0000225报错，

远比Windows好用而且稳定。Windows的唯一好处就是能运行的软件比Mac多一些，比如
特别是那些没文化的银行IT开发者只会开发Windows下的插件。国外的银行网站就好多
了，兼容性都没问题。我是保险经纪，保险公司的软件只有Windows版的所以我只好不
情愿地买个Windows笔记本。最近几年因为苹果的壮大，软件数量和兼容性越来越好了

data sequence and find mode in the window at each iteraion, where the
oldest data is removed and a new data is inserted to the window.

拆开发现有一个塑料滑轮从track上断裂掉下来了，整个钢丝绳都脱落了。
网上买的after market的window regulator，昨天花了一个半小时换上，装好以后试了
下，有点喀拉喀拉的声音，在窗户放到最下面的时候尤其严重，而且放到底的时候能看
到马达整体相对架子有微小转动（理论上马达应该是固定不动的，在窗户放到底之前也
确实不动）。
还有个问题就是控制开关窗户的时候可以推一下自动放到底，但是按一下自动升起来的
功能没了，必须一直按住开关才能升起来。
结果今天打开窗户以后又升不起来了，可以下，不能升。不至于坏这么快吧。
过两天有空再拆开看看，如果是regulator又坏了就郁闷了。
还是说马达也得换了？
