a classical Wimby match perspective - neither 08, 09 showed fantastic S&V
skillset. But this is more of an indication of the evolving game rather
than a lack of skills. For the definition of classical Wimby "epic" match -
look no further than McEnroe/Borg final in 1980.
Back to the future. 08 was a much more "tense" game imo. Can Federer come
back after getting destroyed in FO? Can Nadal prove that he can succeed on |

win in the end. BTW, Melzer won Wimby double this year. His double partner
is Petzschner, the same Petzschner who gave Rafa lots of trouble at Wimby
this year. So I bet he is well prepared for this match.

当现场的大屏幕上顺次播放pete获得过的14个大满贯的时候, 我发现自己对那些曾经的时

其实当初在pete名头过于响亮的时候我并不是他的扇子, 而是随着岁月渐长, 当他不再能

96'法网是pete战绩最好的一次, semi, lost to kaffy. 那个时候我总以为他下一次就可
以征服这该死的roland garros, 可是那之后七年过去了.... 我没想到那居然就是他距离
法网冠军最近的一次. roland garros终于成为了pete以及他的fans心中永远的憾.
00'澳网和andre的semi五盘大战, 第四盘的抢七, 5-4被andre打中的那一记穿越, 我亦没
有想到过那会是他最后一次与澳网冠军擦肩而过.
但是wimby, US Open将成为pete fans心中永远的, 最美好的回忆 |

Gratz to Roddick on getting back to the finals. Although I feel that he'll
have a hard time - here's wishing him another cup - got quite the plate
collection already!
Wimby is still his best chance of getting another title, IMO. |

but I never really watched the minor matches even in the 90s(I was too young
to care and no cable lol), so either way my experience is more or less
toward GS.
There are plenty of good matches, but nothing memorable. Speaking of
Roddick - that reminds me - one of the outstanding matches recently was the
09 Wimby final.

qualifier. The fact is, when they DO meet - how did they do against each
other?
We single out these 2 players because they are the most dominating players
in their generation by far. The times they did met they produced excellent
matches. I'm hoping both of them will continue to be healthy and perform
well - please no more of the crappy matches like this year's Wimby and FO
final... |

实际上AO是最适合偶schedule的大满贯。大多数比赛是晚上转播，晚场
一般12am到1am开始，也勉强可以接受。这个比USO都好，大多数比赛都是
偶们这里工作时间（包括晚场）。最糟糕的就是FO和Wimby. |
