university.
The spent exchange medium can be regenerated with a solution
with very high and pure sodium concentration. Let's use
calcium as example. If the calcium in water is extremely low
and the sodium is extrememly high (say, 10%), calcium will
diffuse to water and sodium will replace calcium untill it
reaches chemical equilibrium. If you do it with running
solution, all calcium will be replaced ultimately (not
practical in real life). |

俺比较纠结的也是这个not broken，但是都说gas water heater的寿命是10-12年（当
然兴许是买锅炉的人散布出来的），借这个energy rebate换还能省100不是。
Tax credit的要求好象相当高，一般water heater好象是够呛能qualify。昨天看到个
GE hybrid water heater，$1600，说是qualify for $400 tax credit和$400 energy
rebate，不过是用电的。 |

manual说There is an average of 4 gallons of reject water for every 1 gallon
of product water produced.
感觉很浪费水啊，而且怕那个drain装不好会漏。。。。。。。 |

briefly, battery back up will work just fine. If out for long time, you will
be better off using a water powered version (you will waste a little clean
water).
It is best to make sure your house is sloped correctly, so you will not have
too much water to pump out to begin with.

clear in a glass cup either. After filtration, it tastes much better and
feels much better in mouth. It is also much more clear when put side by side
in glass cup with tap water.
Those high-end filtration systems of course should do much better than the
lowest end water filtration that I am using. But I think it should be
worthwhile to try it before you buy the much more expensive ones just to
make sure you don't over do |

rarely take shower at the same time. Currently we have a 65-gallon electric
water heater, which is way too big. The heater is on the ground level, and
we have 2 bathrooms on the 3rd floor. Water pressure has not been a problem.

后一个月不在,发现时Water Softener已经发臭,估计整个房子的水管都污染了,不知是
否换掉Water Softener和打开House里的所有水龙头排水就可以把污染驱除?担心管子里
被污染,会有细菌残留,影响以后的水质,不知这种担心是否多余?有什么可以彻底清除那
些埋在房子里的水管的方法?有没有处理House水管清洁的公司?怎样检测家里水的质量?

发帖数: 1296 | 15 以前用的的是那种机械的Timer, 很大一个问题就是Water Hammer。我还发帖子问过这
个事情。昨天去HD买了电子的Timer(产品链接见后）。今天试用了一下，效果不错。
1。 可以定时，比如说什么时候开始浇水，是每天浇，还是每隔几个小时就浇一次。
2。完全没有Water Hammer了。电子Timer用的是ball valve，每次关水都是慢慢关上的
，所以没有Water Hammer。以前的机械Timer用的是Diaphram valve，每次关水都有很
大的震动。
3。我用了一个Y tube,可以把一个龙头分成两个，这样一共就可以有四个水管，前院两
个，后院两个。全部定时浇水。
我的Lot size是0.36 acre，四个水管基本可以覆盖。定好时间，放好水管后就不用管
了。
这样一来，效果其实和sprinker system就差不多。
希望对没有spinkler system，又对浇水不胜其烦的同志有所帮助。

a test kit form lowes or send sample to a lab to test water quality. you
may install some filtration devices too.
tank is buried underground. solids are pumped every once a while and liquids
drain to soil. |

进水管总阀门处，有时会哒，哒，哒的响。网上搜了一下，可能是water hammer。
仔细看了一下，好像总阀门的附近接了一个副管，好像是减轻共振的（还没找到说明书）。
如果是water hammer，按照俺自己的理解，就是水劲憋回去了，没处去。所以现在就是尽量慢一些关上水龙头（往外拔是开，王里按是关的那种）。貌似管点事。
但是还是会时不时的响。不知道有什么好的结局办法？
求教一下。 |

关键就是要找好的，不要怕贵。反正保险公司付账，你出deductible就行了。
第一，如果可能，water remediation要找自己的contractor。但是一定要找好的
contractor，千万别省钱。因为好坏区别很大，如果没清理干净，过一段时间搞出了
mold，就太划不来了。我推荐你上Angie's list，找review最好的。
第二，重建也最好找自己的contractor。本人不推荐中国师傅，因为我接触过的中国师
傅都以价格取胜，不是太professional，而且很多人英语基本会话都不行，没法和保险
打交道。当然我接触过的不多，难免以偏概全。我还是推荐上angie‘s list，找当地
review最好的。原因有两个。第一是review好的装修公司一般规模较大，和各个保险公
司打交道的经验丰富，他们可以给你争取最大的利益。第二是重建的活可能涉及到的种
类较多（比如说木工，地板，管道，墙壁，等等），活比较杂，对技术要求比较高。找

发帖数: 25 | 24 刚刚又去瞧了一遍，发现鼓风机还有一跟摸起来是烫的的管子向上不知道通到哪里去了
。 标成绿色好了。 老公最新的解释貌似还算合理， 黄色线不是热气而是热水，通过
地下室的鼓风机加热一楼和地下室的开关，还有热水循环出上到阁楼， 由阁楼鼓风机
送热风到2楼。最后由标成红色的两根回水管回到water boiler (但是我俩怎么也没搞
清楚一根出水管怎么能搞成两条回水管， 还分别标注2rd floor以及 1st floor)。
如果这个理论成立，我们房子的热水都应该是有water heater独立供应，water boiler
在夏天就是个帮倒忙的，应该关掉或关到最低。 不知道有没有建筑牛人能给我们点评
点评。
话说前房主太handy也不行，干活是非常不错的，就是懒得和我们交代。再加上第一次
有幸住房子，真是满眼都是活儿呀。 |

water heater换了个新的， 电线盒也找有资质电工出具合格报告了。
因为我们的前房主过于牛逼，一直在和town hall扯皮关于8年前自建地下室工程的
permit，最后2个礼拜不停的有各种town hall的人来检查，反正最后所有文件都做齐整
了。 我看过了，新的 water heater上有town hall检查过的黄签，不知道还会不会有
什么潜在的风险。
您能告诉我哪里看着不合适吗？我回头找人来看看。 |

It is a fire hazard and it lacks power.
I have a 60 gallon and a 40 gallon water heaters at home.
They are in series. Water goes into the 60 gallon one first. The
temperature of the 60 gallon one is set lower. This saves energy and
provides enough water for 5~6 people.
Electricity bill is never big if I do not turn on AC. |

季度涨了1000刀呀。跑去相关部门问，发现前房主愣是欠了2012年全年的水费没有交，
劈成两半加到到2013年前两个季度的房产税上了。最后去问律师，发现在closing前我
们的好律师就有给city hall寄支票清所有烂账，只是city hall系统没有摸干净旧帐。
万幸万幸。没被再框700多刀。
意外收获一张前房主的水费帐单，发现water竟然比sewer高。俺们家那口子顿时激动起
来。
根据我们这里的公示价格，水是5.08 / 100ccf; sewer是5.24/100ccf，记上水量自动
变成下水量。（默认1：1用量）。 在我们的强大亚洲人珠算大脑里，唯一能解释上水
比下水贵的原因是:: 难道前房主好心的把屋前屋后俩龙头单立了水表算sprinkling/
irritation system?(浇地的水只算上水，就不算进下水量了)
咨询朋友，得知，如果你有单立的水表，你所有的水表都会在屋外方便city读表。但是

listing agent没有disclose过这个,我们看房时还特意问过listing agent有没有过
water damage,她当时斩钉截铁的说没有.
现在我们发现他们故意隐瞒这个,接下来应该怎么办?联系律师让律师帮我们出面?还是
让buyer agent出面?或者我们自己直接找seller? 是不是让他们出示当时保险公司给他
们的estimate的细节?
合同已经firm了,如果发现当时的water damage是重大的问题,还可以退出么?

发现Water Heater比较中间的位置有一块金属板，金属板周围有个设计的小孔，小孔里
居然往外冒水。这算是个啥设计？
冒水速度很慢。把水擦掉，半天也没见渗出来。
不过一用力按Water Heater顶部，水就从小孔里出来的。
谁有经验么？谢谢 |

。俺尽量以很俗的方式，长话短说，让大家不要常生反感。Tankless Water Heater 同
样设置有点火和燃烧系统，它的内部结构要比Furnace 和Boiler 复杂得多。加热时的

发帖数: 810 | 36 家里面5年新的Water Heater最近烧的热水总是黄颜色的(rusty water)，以前从来没有
出现过这个现
象。网上做了些research，好像原因注意有下面几个
1） Tank 底下的沉淀物
2） 一种细菌导致的
3） anode rod腐蚀光了，要换了
4） Tank生锈了，要换Tank
但奇怪的是，我把Heater彻底Flush后，从热水管里出来的还是黄颜色的水（冷水是透
明的颜色）。难道是Tank里面已经彻底生锈了？如果这样，之前几年从来没有发现热水
变黄的事情，生锈应该是个渐进的过程吧。否则其他原因都解释不了彻底Flush后还是
黄水的现象。除了换Heater，有没有其他可能了？
如果换Heater，50加仑的产品价格大概600刀，可是按照Costco/homedepot的报价，安
装费要800
刀，总共1400刀。正规安装费中有200刀的permit费，不知道是干什么的？后来打电话
给handyman，安装只需要250刀。安装Heater需要特殊Training吗，handyman可以不？ |

先把电箱的 电断了， 然后 拆开 电箱的面板， 加了一个20A breaker， 把12-2的
线从breaker走到 water heater 后面的墙里， 墙面上 挖洞， 线 穿出来， 然后
放到蓝色box 里面 多余的剪掉。 然后 再接上电源插座， |

还有因为新的water heater 比较高， 要把厨房热水的 水管的位置 改动一下， 用到

It also covers sump pump
我们家没有sump pump，其次家里的房子很小，下水管道（走家庭污水的）一般出问题
了，自己小修，或者找plumber。这个coverage的deductible是1000刀，我觉得一般出
了问题要花1000刀的可能性应该很小吧？PS，买房之前我们这个房子已经把所有的PVC
管道换成了铜管，因为之前小区有几家出现水管爆裂的事情，所以我觉得自来水管爆裂
的可能性很低。
drainage是指什么，我的概念中，家里的水管系统两个部分，一部分是自来供水管道，
一部分是家庭污水管道，这个drainage是不是指家庭污水管道？
如果我不选择这个选项，那家里万一发生水灾（非自然灾害），那保险公司cover吗？
问这个问题是因为我们邻居冬天关了暖气，结果家里的水管爆裂，之后家里的墙体地板

personal property。所有的fixture默认都应该留下除非特别说明。water softener和
purification systems (比如你的RO)，绝大多数头脑正常的人都认为water softener

to press it to reset. Because of the overheating, water pressure gets too
high, the pressure relief valve was just about to open, thus the small
amount of water from the discharge tube (if there's one).
First turn down the pre-set temperature to "low" to see if that helps.
