1. Mt. Timpanogos (两次, 一次从American fork上, 一次从Sundance 这边的Aspen
groove上). SLC的XDJM如果有兴趣,我可以带队上, 我已经summit 4 times, 2 more
times to stop at Emerald lake (peak 11749ft, 全程14~16迈, elevation gain
4600~4900ft)
2. Mt. Nebo (Wasatch 南面的最高点, 11928ft)
3. lone peak (11253ft, 一般认为这是local最demanding的hike, include scramble
4. Pfeifferhorn (11326ft) 离SLC近, 可以版聚一次. |

发帖数: 1837 | 17 这周是野花节，连着三天在不同的地方都有志愿者组织免费的野花介绍。这个野花节最
早其实就是Alta的一帮居民夏天聚在一起的一个活动。后来越办越大，犹他野花协会也
加入了进来，才慢慢发展到现在的规模。带着大家看花的基本都是志愿者，很多人也不
是野花的专家，就是大家走走聊聊，看看野花。不过反正他们都比我懂得多就是了，我
就是希望起码可以认识几种花，不会每次出去爬山都是说：“又是这种小黄花”或者“
这个我们看见过”。
我们周六早晨去的在Alta的活动。早晨9点多停车场里已经有了不少人，
还有个小的乐队在演奏，虽说还没什么人看他们好像也还是很自得其乐的样子。
著名的Mt Superior Snow Butterfly,你看到了么？每年夏天雪化的时候都可以看到，
据说再早一点连触须都有。
我们参加了一个中级的路线，从Albion Basin的停车场一路走向Devil's Castle，再从
去Campground的那条路下来。我们的向导叫Evan，挺有趣的一个人。手里拿着本
Wasatch wild flower guide,看到一种野花，先在书上翻出照片，再向大家介绍。他说

Within 10 miles of SLC.
You need to find 3300 S and Wasatch Blvd, then head east for 4.4 miles
Parking $2.25 / car.day, free for bike.
Annual pass $22, but cheaper than cost of gas if you go to provo/weber river
You can catch 4 trouts in 30 minutes.
If you do fly-fishing, you can get four trouts in 2 minutes, and this was
exactly what I saw on last Saturday.

Lone peak, a 11,253ft peak, consider one of the most strenuous day hike in
the wasatch area in Utah. The easiest route is from Jacobs ladder trail (at
5600ft) from Draper side.
We originally plan to hike from the recent renovated Orson Smith trailhead
but after asking around we drive another 2~3 miles to reach the Jacobs
ladder trailhead. But the start time is already 8:00AM which is far behind
the 7:00AM plan.

Suicide Rock：
Suicide Rock这个名字挺不好听，据说是原来印第安人因为有美女从上面跳下来殉情而
起的。这块花花绿绿的大石头就在Parleys Canyon口上I215边上，估计大伙开车的时候
都路过过，但是不知道有几个人到下面去看过。当初印第安人的瞭望塔现在成为了小孩
们涂鸦的画板：
Parleys Canyon:
这块石头可以从Bonneville Shoreline Trail上过去，夏天的时候无数的人骑车在上面
锻炼。这条路走到头就绕到了Parleys Canyon的对面，Wasatch Dr.的尽头。从这里可
以上到Grandeur Peak。我们往上爬了一点，正好看山谷里的日落：

camping一把, 还可以hike the Nebo summit, 它是Wasatch的最高峰 |

发帖数: 1837 | 23 看看昨天的天气,很难相信上周末还有50度,12月在Utah还可以爬一座完全没有雪的山头.
这周去的是 Mt. Wire,因为山顶上有两块手机信号的反射板，所以大家一般叫它Big
Beacon. Big Beacon从University research park或者是从Pioneer Park都可以上. 如
果从research park这边出发，它应该是除了Mt. Van Cott之外离学校最近的一个山头
了. Big Beacon不是很高,只有7143feet,但是因为要在2mile左右的路程里上升
2100feet,路上还是有一些能让你气喘吁吁的路段的. Trail一开始的时候岔路不少,不
过因为最宽的一条是最缓的一条,所以沿着主路走不会有太大的问题. 几张照片：

all started blossoming from exactly two weeks ago.
I hiked at Alta from the parking lot to the top of Sugarloaf on the July 4th
weekend and saw hardly any flowers at all. I'm going this Sun again at
Alta trying to avoid the crowd.

its summit offers an amazing view over the Wasatch mountain range.

way you like. I personally like on campus ones.
place I have lived in include Aggie Village, Wasatch, Campus Corner, Old Main Hill village, I will recomend Aggie Village, lots of Chinese students and very convenient to facility and school too. |

发帖数: 589 | 40 最近要搬UTAH, 加入UTAH版的兄弟姐妹。准备在SLC南部找个地方住下。初步计划准备
找个相对合适的地方，如MIDVALE, SANDY和DRAPER等地方。主要考虑有一定的中国人，
购物及交通也较好。
我现在的主要考虑的是学校的问题，家里有个要读初中的小孩，希望找到一个不错的中
学及高中，让他能够交到一定的朋友，又有机会参加一些兴趣小组或比赛等等。但是似
乎该地区的初中在greatschools或schooldigger上的rating分数都不是太好。好的都集
中在SLC的东部及北部，像 West, Wasatch Junior 等等。
想请问版上有经验的兄弟姐妹多多赐教，到底在SLC南部哪些中学在我们中国人内口碑
不错，学术也不差，当然也希望周围的环境也不要太不好。希望有这方面的经验家长可
以多多分享分享，多谢！ |

High，Olympus Junior High，Churchill Junior High，Butler Middle，和 Albion
Middle 这几所，请问是不是倾向于前两所？
另外，我在 greatschools 上查到 South Jordan Middle School, Mountain Ridge
Junior High 都是 9/10，评分不低，不知是不是名副其实。
你提到 NOT touch anything Midvale，是不是该地区比较乱，或教育质量不行。我看
到 Midvale MS 倒是近期频频曝光，Utah State Math Contest, Mathcounts 好像都是
第一，是不是他就是有几个特别突出的中国小孩，其他的就一般般。
问题较多，见谅，多谢你的颇有见地的回答。

需要在指定的几所学校交钱参加120hr的培训。
第二，交钱上课。选online的课程就行，不用去classroom。省时省力。
我选的最贵的那个stringham，服务不错，推荐。但是学费可真不便宜。$599
第三，上完课参加学校考试，然后参加考前培训，拿结业证。
第四，拿了结业证就可以去pearlson vue网站上预约state exam了。
她们网站预约不好用，得打电话才能确定。考试费$66
第五，考过了当时给按指纹，给receipt。拿着四张forms就可以寄到
division of real estate申请license了。$152
第五，在申请之前，有一个很重要的步骤就是选好自己要隶属的公司。
让公司的人填写其中一个form上的信息。这样你的license就是active的。
如果不选公司就是inactive。如果你从了某个大公司，她们会帮助你申请。
