很快就过去了。偶尔也边听音乐边跑，可是耳机线晃来晃去的，过一回会觉得非常碍手
。而且边跑边听时间长了会恶心。
可以试着用garmin forerunner 405/610里的virtue partner或是virtue racer。这样每次跑都有小小目标。不断的挑战自己也会带来乐趣。

大约在五年前读到威廉.詹姆士（William James）的教育著作 Talks to Teachers on
Psychology，非常钦佩其对人类意识和认知这些极为复杂的过程的深刻理解。后来在书
店见到詹姆士的另一本名著 The Varieties of Religious Experience (以下简称为
Varieties), 正好宗教也是我感兴趣的话题，于是毫不犹豫地买下来。但是一读之下并
没有抓住我的注意力，于是这书就在书架上高高的地方被供起来。前些时候，闲来无事
，把这本书拿下来翻翻，发现书里的文字已然变得栩栩如生。这几年间我发生了什么改
变，让我跟这本书有了缘分，我不知道。但这缘分让我很愉快。詹姆士不仅观察敏锐、
文采飞扬，并且还在字里行间流露出一种不常在哲学家当中见到的温厚。罗素在《西方

之所以说苏格拉底是“基因突变”，因为他跟之前的古希腊哲学家们并没有必然联系。
Milesian school专注于宇宙的组成、Pythagoreanism抽象出了数。。。而苏格拉底最
关心的是道德(virtue)，基本脱离了古希腊哲学(玄学)的一贯气氛。
苏格拉底的结论更是惊世骇俗：道德(virtue)、乃至对整个自然的认识无法通过单纯的
推理、思考而定论！他考察了很多问题，上至宗教下至情感，全是这个结论。
这样的想法和所有其他先哲有本质不同。其他人不管是思考什么问题得到什么结论，都
告诉你：这是我的思考结果，这是对的、这是我发现的真理。而苏格拉底告诉你：这是
我的思考结果以及思考过程(！)，但这不是真理。
今天写科学论文，除了写本理论能解释什么，还要老实写本理论不能解释什么。这个思
路是苏格拉底开始明确、系统地提出的。在这个系统里，前人的工作是后人工作的基础

比如记得Plato的Form也是通过Socrates的口提出来的吧，在Republic里。晚期的《巴
门尼德斯篇》通过巴门尼德斯对Socrates的悖论诘难，Socrates处于辩论下风，批判
Plato自己的idealism。如果《巴门尼德斯篇》是柏拉图自己写的，自己批判自己，这
个很有意思，很有Socrates的风格，不过一般认为这里的Socrates和理想国里的
Socrates都不是历史上的Socrates了。
更严格一点的观点，Russell《西方哲学史》里也有谈到，认为Dialogues里只有申辩篇
Apology可以被确定为是Socrates的历史形象。即使如此，还是疑点重重，比如

大约在五年前读到威廉.詹姆士（William James）的教育著作 Talks to Teachers on
Psychology，非常钦佩其对人类意识和认知这些极为复杂的过程的深刻理解。后来在书
店见到詹姆士的另一本名著 The Varieties of Religious Experience (以下简称为

但是什么叫good life?
人到底有什么virtue，
人有多少sin，
那么virtue和sin在上帝眼里是如何衡量的？
即使是loved ones也会去世，那么总的说来，生活就变得毫无意义。
所有这些有意义的条件是上帝不在乎人是否知道上帝的存在，而且人真的可以做到真正
意义的好人。在现实中据我的了解，真正的好人（毫不利己，专门利人的人）很少。那
么问题就是如果有这个“真正”公正的神，为什么造了这么多不好的人呢？好人去哪？
不好的人去哪呢？所有问题要比基督教中存在的问题要大的多，因为这种臆想的神，没
什么现实的依据。
这种说法的本质还是人来定义上帝。

但我想指出一点：会答online test,或者能够pass IB, HF的C++ 面试和是否会编程不
能说一点关系没有，但关系不大。考virtue function, virtue destructor的定义可以
说是华尔街的特色。你要是面试google linkedin啥的 从没人问你定义。真正it公司的
考试以算法，data structure, 甚至 os 为主。我觉得过那个c++ test 和能否进google可以说基本没关系，因为google不考那个。
我身边有个拿到fb,google的同学ubs面试居然挂了，很多java基础定义的题答得不如那些刚上过一门java课的人好。
