The worksheet has 1 million rows and 10 columns. All cell values are string
or numbers.
I used the solution at Count unique values in a column in Excel
=SUMPRODUCT((A2:A1000000<>"")/COUNTIF(A2:A100000,A2:A1000000&""))
But, it runs so long time that the EXCEL is almost frozen. And, it generates
25 processes in Win 7.
Are there more efficient ways to do it ?

大神。
题目如下：
1． 基本问题。一个数据流包含4个整数，每个整数随机分布在1到10之间，两端都
包括，每个数的概率是一样的（即都是十分之一）， 这个数据流会被一个函数处理，
这个函数会保留这个数据流里面最大的两个数，并且返回这两个最大数的乘积。 假设
这个函数会处理很多这样的数据流，请问这个函数返回的乘积的expected value和 std
是多少？
举几个例子：
第一个数据流 包含8,4,9,2。最大的两个数是8和9，返回72.
第二个数据流包含10,2,5,10，最大两个数是10,10, 返回 100.
。。。。。。以此类推
先说说我的思路。如果这个题不是问乘积，而是问最大值的expected value，就变得比
较简单。
要算最大值的expected value, 可以用下面的方法。
假设最大值是k,那么k是最大值的概率为(k^4-(k-1)^4)/10^4。也就是说要k是最大值，
这个数据流里面的每个数都只能取1至k,总共有k^4取法。但是还要去除某些不包含k的

上个星期， 车子被一个同事在停车厂里撞了， 因为比较严重， 没法私了， 就报了保
险公司。
首先让我生气的damage estimate, 我想拿一笔就走人， 这车我根本不想修理， 即便
我花一百万美金修车， 这辆车早晚会年旧报废。 但是保险公司只答应直接给我$2000
，如果修车不够， 让修车行找保险公司“商量”或“索要”。可是我并不打算修， 只

的就会倾向suv，同时也具备一定的driving experience value，当然是和van相比。但
是suv的驾驶体验跟小车比还是差远了，把驾驶体验追求到极致的超豪华品牌是不会屑
于搞个suv的（脑袋被驴踢了的蓝宝除外哈）。所以你绝不会见到有人开911做commute
，然后搞个差五做weekend fun car。就个人经验，suv中驾驶感觉能媲美小车的除了卡

不过试试用Chained Hash了吗？
1) create the hash table.
2) create a link-list node that stores the position of the value
3) put the values inside the hash table. Preferably, during insertion,
you want LIFO
4) loop thru the array again
4.1) get hash[sum-value]
4.2) print if the position of the hash value is greater than current
value's position.
4.3) if position > node->position, continue;

发帖数: 1679 | 12 appraisal的报告上，有一项是估出来的房子本身的价值（通过跟其他的comp比较）。
另一项是直接引用county的propery tax里的land value（就是地值多少钱）。
你想，appraiser是不知道地值多少钱的，所以他必定引用那个数字。
所以，现在正在卖房子的，就不要去appeal你的property tax了，因为buyer都会去查
的。
好比说，你的房子本身market value应该有40万。你当初买来是个好deal花了30万。
之后，你又appeal，county也给调整到30万，county调整的方式之一就是降低land
value.
精明的buyer会像appaiser一样，把房子的value+land value，估算出你房子的价值，
明显很容易低于40万，所以你就卖不到一个deserve的市场价。 |

可之前我们的agent，不停的对我们说什么Appraisal value 肯定会比我们的成交价高
非常多，因为我们买到了最好的super good deal 啊什么的，还到处对别人包括对home
inspector说，到后来听得我们很烦好像我们捡了个天上的大馅饼似的
这闹了半天我们也就是出的market value，现在看见市场上房子还在一直跌，感觉心里
还是挺郁闷的，况且我们买的这个20年的房子几乎从没做过upgrade，搬进去还要花不
少钱，觉得当时应该再压一下价格的，可是脸皮太薄了
请问大家当时买房子时，银行的Appraisal value 和你买的价格差的多吗，是不是银行
趋向于把Appraisal value往成交价上靠呢？

对里边几个东西搞不懂，market value, actual assessed value, transitional
assessed value, 不知道交地税的是凭哪个value?
而且我看这个数字都偏低，价值只有现在目前市价的1/10， 比若说，在notice列出来
的都只有$40k左右，但是现在挂出来的市价大概是$450k左右，搞不懂notice的数字怎
么来的。
但是估算的租金倒是没有差那么多，只差了$500左右，也搞不清这个rent是如何推算出
来的？
而且若买下这个租的房子的话，那时候交税时按照$450k左右算，还是按照$40k左右算？

Stock的市场价值等于future cash flow discounted to the today at a certain
discount rate是没错，就是市场认为这公司值多少钱。
equity = book value = asset-liability，这也没错，其实就是今天公司的清算价值
，把公司所有资产变现，把所有负债还掉，剩下的就是股东的钱，就是equity。
至于par value，是法律上规定，每一股在发行时股东至少要付进来的钱，但是法律对
最低付进来的钱并没有最低额度限制，所以就出现了0.01，0.001每股par value的情况
。公司发行股份就是卖股份，不管是引进战略投资者，IPO发新股，还是award给高管，
公司至少得收到每股par value的价值；由于这个数字可以极低，也就给员工股权激励
，或者业绩对赌输股票等需要接近于0成本发行股票的情形制造了便利。这就是一个单
纯的法律规定，股票不能免费给，交换就必须有对价，否则就是gift。这就是这个个
par value的意义。 |

理论上，董事会作为公司的最高管理机构，可以以任何价格发行公司股份，但有两个硬
性限制，一个是公司章程规定的总可发行股份数（超过的话，需要先修改公司章程才可

但是董事会是不能随意行事的，董事会必须以公司利益最大化行事，即business
judgement rule。如果是员工股权激励范围内的par value发行，或者其它公司履约情

就是说知道一个均值A，然后做实验，算一组sample跟这个均值A的 P-value，我觉得没
有意义啊，好像只要 sample 只要足够大，最后的p-value肯定很小啊，（因为实验均值
完全等于这个A的可能性太小了），等样本数量变大之后，是不是p-value就会变小？比
方一个大小为 50，均值为 40的样本跟A=50算出来的pvalue 明显会大于 大小为50000，
但是均值也是40的样本跟A=50算出来的p-value ? |

the variable is character, then blank (string with zero length) is
different from missing. if you have a value representing missing, then
certainly it is not missing.
2) By default, SAS will fit the model without records with missing value. I
don't know whether SAS has a mechanism to impute the missing value
automatically in the procedure. But SAS does have some procedure to impute

举个例子
比如我有一个variable是cityname, 他的对应format 是这样的
value city
1='1. Beijing'
2='2. Shanghai'

现在我想作的是用一个macro来调出cityname对应的format, 然后把单引号里面的值稍作改动, 变成
value city
1='Beijing'
2='Shanghai'
3='Tianjing';
就是把最前面的数字去掉了. 我在网上搜了半天, 没有发现有什么sas function可以去
提取format value的值. (如果能够提取那个值, 修改值就用compress()之类的function就可以简单完成了. )
请哪位高手指点一下.

px值在( 2000 - 1.96 * 40 ~ 2000 + 1.96 * 40) 间的可能性是95%
如果有 Y ~ binomial分布 py, 10000个sample, sum = 1900.

对方从最开始认赔600，到1000。然后我提供了KBB对车撞前的估价，车的维修价格和网
上的第三方评估diminished value，评估出来大概是3300的diminished value。
这些证据提供了之后，对方认赔到1500.
请问还要如何争取才能要回第三方评估的3300 diminished value？需要上小法庭么？ |
