我觉得需要找到你一个战壕里的伙伴。比如，你的文章说，这个不是A（长期理论），
是B（新理论，但是没有足够证据建立起来）。那么看看能否找到其余间接支持B的理论
？或者相关学科中，有没有和B相似的理论？如果很多人暗示过B模式，或者相关方向（
比如，不同的病毒，不同的蛋白质等），有B模式类似形式的存在，那么你就可以通过
“我们推翻了A并且指向（虽未证明）B”作为重点来讨论。同时，暗示过B或研究过B模
式（可能和你的文章甚至不是一个分支）的学者，都可能作为审稿人。如果有大牛就更
好了。
如果重点在打破A，那么即使送审了，你们领域内的集体偏见可能也会让你发不了。所
以可能需要走出现有的小方向，既显示broad interest，又可以找到unbiased的审稿人

下，算上CIVIL的才22个FACULTY,ME这种专业，CIT的1个FACULTY还真就不能说能顶一般
学校的2个faculty。由此ME被排到了95还真挺合理的。
再看USNEWS, ME排在第3位！！！我怎么觉得USNEWS突然非常不靠谱！！

家看看对不对.
在Research Strategy 12页的正文限制内，必须覆盖这几个内容（如果涉及的话）：
1) the scientific premise forming the basis of the proposed research,
2) rigorous experimental design for robust and unbiased results,
3) consideration of relevant biological variables
然后在一个分开的文件，名为"Authentication of Key Biological and/or Chemical
Resources" 里，要覆盖这几个内容（如果涉及的话）
4) authentication of key biological and/or chemical resources.
另外，我记得在最近几年开始，递交完申请之后大概有几天到一个星期的时间让你核对

1) I investigated one or a few aspect of the company, and
concluded that the company is undervalued.
2) I admit that I do not know anything about everything else.
3) Because of 2), I give myself an estimate that on other aspects,
there is 50% chance that they are undervalued as a whole, and
50% chance that they are overvalued.

13 week EMA and 34 week EMA as indicated by your method.
I know it worked greatly historically, but you first claimed
this method on Apr 1, 2009 (partically due to its great historical
performance). Since then your method scored about -4%. A simple
indexing from that day yields about 25%.
IMO an unbiased evaluation of a method should start from the
day it is posted. |

your performance would have beaten indexing. As an unbiased
"3rd party evaluation" guy, I have to start from the day you
posted. I can't evaluate it based on back testing. Everything
needs to go forward. If a method was very good historically
but not as good now, it means it's kind of a 强弩之末 method.
I believe you were still fine tuning your method even
in the beginning of 2009, because I've seen a few different
versions from you at |

面试两个人，先是介绍一个最近的项目。然后做题，一道是如何用一个biased coin构
造一个unbiased coin。第二题是用priorityqueue来记录topten的成绩。都很简单，

我发现好多人很瞧不起学校学的东西，不知你现在用的知识，经验那个能离开学校教的
基本。灵活运用才是根本。
回到楼主的问题，我觉的这两个问题很好，可以评价申请者这基础知识，而且还很好展
开。
从binomial 到 A/B rest, CRT, point estimator....
从MLE, 到 各种算法，Fisher scoring, regression, biased/unbiased estimator,
hypothesis testing...
：太理论了industry根本用不到
：你去网站跟boss说我要检验的是没有变化而不是有变化？尽管h0确实是没有变化，但
是这么report明年经费非减半不可。因为boss需要的是make difference and make

背景： midwest一州立大学 实验物理PhD 然后在东海岸另一州立学校博后3年 无绿卡
有H4 EAD 全部自学 onsite面试了google, facebook, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac,
Capital One, comscore和两个小公司的SDE，data scientist, stats还有quant职位
电话面试挂了amazon 和 Bloomberg 最后收到一个quant offer
几点感想：
1. 首先一定要有信心，大部分理工科PhD应付现在这些热门专业其实都绰绰有余，当然
你得花时间，要少走弯路，要多刷题，这些热门方向都是相通的，总体就是你要有
programming和数学(linear algebra, stats)的基础，有些专业大二后就很少接触数学
和编程 或者这两者都不是你的comfort zone 这样会要多花些时间 但我觉得只要你国
内能上一本就不会有问题 当然还要加上一些communication和一些corporate culture

一分为二的二，还可以再分为“更二”（ no pun intended here)；

太复杂了，所以，还是作农民好－－是非分明，爱憎分明，非白即黑，非黑即白，哪里
有这么多物极必反（i.e. 完全的unbiased, 本身就是一种bias） 的混杂问题要去纠结 |
