学院有个错觉，以为宗教是让人信的，神学则是做学术研究的；所以神学院的人应该都
不是教徒，这样才不会把个人主观带入科学研究。后来发现不仅神学院、甚至耶鲁和其
他很多大学，创始之初都是为了培养牧师；宗教感情是教育的初始推动力。不仅神学院
的都是教徒，校长、校董也多是教徒。不知道现在的神学院上下是否都是基督徒——从
师资网页上看，除了各种基督教的研究之外，便是宗教与伦理、社会等泛课题研究，没
有佛教、伊斯兰教等其他宗教研究。则神学院不如称为基督教学院。

我老今天要说的是文学翻译问题，也是老生常谈了。早就注意到这个问题了，多翻译的
著作，总感觉里面的人都不说正常的人话。有些固然是语言习惯不同，有些却是译者故
意制造这种差异。比如说，教科书上有篇课文，讲的是家境贫穷的女人偷偷收养死了父
母的邻居孤儿，怕丈夫责骂，忐忑地对自己说，他知道了会揍我的。
看这个“揍”用的。正常的中文语境的成年人不会用这个字的，只会用“打”。我老也
看不出译者必须用揍的理由，完全可以翻译成打，更符合中文习惯。而且在翻译作品里
，似乎能用揍就不用打，成了一股风气，我老只能认为这些人是故意的，想不出其他的
借口。还有更常见的万能的“该死的”，无论文字还是影视，什么骂人的话一律都翻译
