在soho工作，家住flushing附近，得坐bus才能到。公司规定晚上下班晚于8点可以take
cab回家。我经常9点下班，可从来没take 过cab。跟2位同事说起过，他们都建议我应
该take cab。我在想如果take太多cab，会不会影响涨薪水啊？ |

不正常差别太大，正常体面的男人远比正常体面的女人少，简单的数字除法而已。
Winner-take-all的结构是在竞争者都是差不多质素的情况下，赢的人的reward远远比
其优势要大。比如是短跑，快那么.01秒就拿到冠军破了记录名垂青史，第二名差那么
一点点，虽然也有银牌，不过过了一个月没有人记得了，虽然从本质来说，这两个人是
没有任何根本区别。
另一个例子就是音乐家。没有唱片普及的时候，大家都是听现场的，好乐手收入多点，
坏乐手收入少点，很正常。唱片出来后，现在基本上在古典音乐领域就是每种乐器几个
大师垄断了大部分的销量。这几个大师和其他没有什么唱片的人可能根本差别只是那么
一点点，甚至是没有本质区别。
如果在dating market，应该是某个吸引力比其他男人好那么一点点的男人就占据大部
分女人才能说得通。哪怕是1:4，都要说这个男人和第二名男人其实差别不大。黑人的
例子不是啊。

者可以吃蛋糕，后来才知道“take the cake”是指表现更加出色，也即“谁将是优胜
者”之意。
但在美国俚语中，take the cake也可指“更糟”，譬如I've seen bad grammar, but
this takes the cake，意思是见过语法差的，没见过这么差的。
（二）call the shotgun
那天载儿子和他几个朋友去逛街，一群小孩要上车时争先恐后地说：“I call the
shotgun.”我搞不清楚他们到底在争什么，又看他们用猜拳来决定，猜赢的孩子得意洋

我说一下我的体会吧。CK考试是很难的。Kaplan有2500道题目左右，一个block一天做
完再对完答案大约需要至少4个小时，一天两个block的话，做完需要1个月，然后还需
要10天左右的时间复习错题。所有大约要1个半月弄完kaplan qbank。UW的时间和这个
相仿。以我体会，每天做两个block，看完每一个选项并记下来是极为痛苦和高强度的
。但就我所知，这是我认为最高效的办法。所有做完UW和kaplan需要3个月，然后再模
考，整理资料，再一个月。就是4个月可以去考CK。这是我能想到最快的出一个理想成
绩的时间了，会非常的痛苦。还不包括之前看kaplan note的时间。
至于CS，FA上有50个左右的case。每个case需要练习2遍至少，还需要写note。如果上
一个课的话，然后全力以赴的话，1个月是有人做到的。
所以半年是可行的按上面的说法，但是以我个人的体会会非常得痛苦。

reality.
For those who are going to take USMLE, do it now, make a schedule required
for the match in 2014, and try to get into a program before 2015.
For those who are just about to start, try your best but do not put
all your eggs in one basket.
Do not take years to make a decision to take USMLE. Do not take years to
prepare for step1. |

leave 大概可以比unemployment package 多300/week,大概16周，（2周产前，8周产后
，还有6周family leave). 但我不知道，take paternity leave 后，是否还可以拿

I use a Canon PowerShot S3 to take firework photos. If I set the exposure
time to 4 second (or even 8 sec sometime), after the shutter closes, it
almost takes another 4 ~ 8 sec for the camera to save / flush the image onto
the card, which means I cannot take new ones during this blackout window. I
