it looks your miliage is wrong.
Do you know which timing chain was broken? upper chain or lower chain? You
have to check this first.
Upper chain is easy to fix, but lower chain is very hard, Stanza has upper and
lower oil pan, to remove lower chain, you need first remove oil pump assembly,
which is on crankshaft---> this means you have to remove the lower oil pan

之前PhD实验室的传统一直是系里出fellowship，这样也可以养外国学生
师兄自由自在读了8年，搭车还读了个外专业的硕士
毕业的要求是给老板完成一个+交一个大funding
一般情况，工科学校会给2年RA，之后就要外部funding suppor了
有些人能要到一个5年的fellowship配套，这是不是就是最好情况？
金字塔顶端，可能类似大牛搞得晨星数学中心，国家投钱养一堆人刷文章，不要求回报
但是俺们是偏应用的，所以拿了学校的长期投资，还是要搞到外部funding才好交差
但是这个过程真的很漫长，学生可能第4年才独立出文章

拖拉到今天才开始办理OPT, 8月13号就算正式毕业了。准备10月的第一个星期一开始
OPT，时间还是有点紧的。
今天上午开始填I765表，发现有个e-filing，想着用credit card付钱方便就交了。下
午到ISO核对材料，结果他们说非常不推荐用e-filing，要我重新手填I765，重新写
check再一起过去。吐血！要我交双备的钱！我打电话到USCIS要求cancel在线的申请，
结果他们说不行，cancel不了了。而且一旦case成立，管你办不办，钱也不会退了。
现在我的问题很多：
1，就是在线填的时候，填错了几个地方，包括OPT的code填错了，电话打错了，入境时
间也填错了。打电话给USCIS的人，他们说把suppor |

NIW 140历时10个月，1月16的收件，8月27的RFE(from #66),补材料收件11月5号，
approved 11月15号。
我的背景：
Mechanical engineering的phD,搞纳米的，递交140申请时比较弱，刚够基本条件：4篇
杂志（2篇中文），3－4篇会议，做的是NSF的项目。citation 几乎没有，只有一个中
文的不到10个的citation，SCI检索不到的。
关于律师：
找的MiTbbs板上的刘律师，原因简单，给其它律师写信评估没有收到回信。还有一个原
因是看了他的网页关于成功的案例，申请人的背景大多不是很强，这样的Case能批准才
能体现律师的作用。整个过程律师都很认真负责，大概90多分吧。
推荐信：
都知道独立推荐人的重要性，可是找不认识的人写很难，发出去的email都基本石沉大
海。没办法，托亲戚朋友找了两个中国教师，一个在国内，一个在美国，算独立推荐人
吧！让人生气的是自己的老板和Center 的其它director都把一下稍微好的修饰词去掉
