5个多小时的航班还是挺累人的。在飞机上无聊快到的时候取出来GPS玩，所以俺的GPS
上记录下最快速度有500多麦，哈哈。想看看在天上的位置开到ANC咋走，结果可怜的
GPS说找不到路。
飞机抵达安克雷奇机场已经是午夜以后。取了行李，坐shuttle赶到south terminal的
租车处取车。Avis只剩下一个值班的mm了。问她关于预订时候说的coupon的事情， 她
说他们不收coupon。不知道是因为没别人了她嫌麻烦还是咋的。看到prepay的油价是2.
45还是2.49，问了外边都是2.9以上，就决定买prepay的。其实估计跟自己回来之前加
满差不多，因为还车之前不可能用到一缸刚完。预订车的时候，加了AmEx的那个租车保
险， 用AmEx的卡租，他们会收25刀提供primary的LDW |

比如：
“New Providence和Berkeley Heights这个两个地方吧，是好区，但是属于新生代
的好区，不是传统的富人区，学校排名都在上升阶段，现在应该属于二三十名的档次(
为啥NPH去年排入前三，这个其实大家都明白，NPH的确还没达到那个水平），但是随着
大量中国人的迁入，以后排名应该还有会稳排在十几名左右，甚至更好。”
---NP和BH历来就是传统的所谓好区，如果按citydata统计的平均household income来
说的话，应该是中上产阶层的地区，不过确实算不上“富人区”。之所以给人“新生代
”的印象是因为NPHS在最近几年NJMONTHLY上的排名分别是第5和第1，这样这个小town
才开始进入了咱们国人的目光。其实去查查这之前的名次，都在十几名徘徊.NJMonthly
的排名只是一个统计结果，至于它是用什么标准来衡量的，每次都有变动，这个在它的
统计说明中就可以查到。所以不管是Millburn高中得第一还是NPHS第一都是一个实际统

眼看看东部大雪，今年WA的雪季很起伏。
离西雅图最近，平均年降雪480''(英寸，下同）的Summit at Snoqualmie (Summit)算
是我老东家。往年感恩节前就能开黑道的雪场，今年就是个超级大杯具。别人都是九月
份开门迎宾，他家眼瞅着圣诞节了还闭门谢客呢。不过话说回来，东岸一些雪场base有
3寸就能开了，Summit十几寸base，YTD降雪70寸还无法营业的也是奇葩了。
Summit隶属Boyne名下，商业运作得很不错，Season pass最便宜，且有数种选择。这次
危机，还保持了与Mission Peak和Crystal Mountain的良好合作关系，有Summit季票去
这两家可以免费或者$25滑。Summit没有Weekday折扣；在Summit滑雪真正的麻烦是常见

美东时间6月8日，美国能源部所属橡树岭国家实验室（ORNL）发布超级计算机Summit，
称其为全球运算性能最强大、最智能的科研超级计算机。

解才敢发言，也不想误导大家，您的驳斥有点太较真了。
1）说NP和BH是好区但不是不是传统的好区是指和他俩的邻居Summit和Chatham相比，相
比较才能说哪个好哪个更好，不是吗？NP和BH是很好，也是中上产阶层聚集地，但是整
体程度达不到Summit和ShortHills的水平，所以不在第一纵队里。
2）不知道作为您realtor有没有统计最近几年多少中国人迁入NP和BH？我可以肯定的告
诉你越来越多的中国人在NP/BH买房子，或者开始考虑在这两个地区买房子，两个town
是不大，但是相比几年前，的确算是大批移入了，还不包括大量的租房者。您知道今年
光BH地区春节聚餐有多少中国家庭加入吗？
我用的词大多是相对/相比较的，这个“大量”可能和你想象中的大量不是一个概念。
所以有误解。
3）作为realtor您竟然把Summit和NP建镇的顺序说反了，是Summit把NP的一半抽出来建
镇（另一半从Springfield抽出）不是NP拿Summit的。

本人与朋友这个月long weekend去参加rmi的4 day rainier summit的登顶活动，感觉
压力很大，从负重（40－45lb）到trail的elevation gain等等，最近体力也不是很好
，背30lb的pack上mt. si非常痛苦。跟白人同事参加体育活动的经历让我担心会不会被
同行的白人壮男们健步如飞地拖死。很想听听中国人角度的意见。

Agent给自己做广告的原因。我觉得基本上是靠谱的，所以还是转过来，可能有些同学
会觉得有用。最后一段agent的联系方式我就删掉了。。。
说它基本靠谱是因为不够详细。Summit的几个sections各有特点我觉得对于某些特定人
群来说是非常好的选择。New Providence和Berkeley Heights基本上是一样的，房子
其实差不多老，Murry Hill Section跨了以上所有三个towns，对于NP和BH来说是相对
比较好的Neighborhood。年收入在$500K以上的建议买North Summit或者Short Hills，
都是multi-million houses, 某些房子地税都要赶上俺全部的收入了。North Summit
交通方便，Short Hills学区更单纯，主要差别在这里。
New Providence/Berkeley Heights/Chatham/Madison以及Summit除了North and

发帖数: 379 | 39 最早说的是去爬Long，中间变过一次计划，出发前两天又临时决定去爬Groat，只因
leader突然看到了NWHiker上有人贴的TR和片子，被种草了… 开始两次还很认真地找
report和地图研究，最后也懒得看了，谁知道还会不会再换地方。Groat Mountain只是
一个小山头，离它最近的major peak是5 miles之遥的twin sisters。星期六早上6点半
在Ash way P&R集合，话说我已经有年头没这么早起过床了… 往北开的路上不仅看到了
日出、还看见了月落。大概因为月亮位置已然很低，车子左侧的月亮圆盘看着不仅大，
而且极为清晰、明亮。天也很好，开出没多远就能很清楚地看到Baker了。
Groat Mountain西边不到2 miles的地方是Stewart Peak。夏天，沿着盘山公路可以一
直开到离4200 ft高的Stewart山顶很近的地方。我们三辆4WD塞了12个人尽量往上开，
最后停在了2400 ft高的一个公路转角处。再往上很快道路就完全的被积雪覆盖了，这
是最后一个方便停车的地方。我们计划的路线是沿着公路走到3520 ft高的“丫”字形

发帖数: 379 | 40 2-day scramble。星期六早上6点半起床，7点20在Ashway集合，一辆车4个人开到Mazam
北边9 miles的trailhead都已接近中午了，Richard的trip时间安排的从来都很休闲，
我喜欢。路上看到一辆车，后面贴着两个大大的stick，一个写着“Search & Rescue”
，一个写着“Support Search & Rescue? Get Lost”，哈哈哈哈。HWY-20上依旧很晕
车；Washington Pass两侧的山峰还是那么峭立，让人看着就想爬；Mazam路边的小桥、
流水、营地亲切如故，第三次来了，一切都仿佛只在昨天。Trailhead就在路边，另外
两辆车的5个人已经到了。刚开始是沿着峡谷的一侧往北走，trail很长也很平缓。峡谷
里有流水，隔着近的时候能听见潺潺的水声。这个峡谷走到尽头，转过一个弯，还有另
一个峡谷需要穿。这段几乎不怎么升高的路走起来感觉很漫长，尤其是在第二天出来的
时候... 1点经过第二座桥，右手边有一条掩在丛林中的瀑布。过桥之后右手边马上有

北密，也称作为upper peninsula, 指的就是密西根过了mackinaw bridge以北的地方，
而之所以叫做peninsula, 就是因为密西根的上半岛几乎是被湖包围着.
在过去的3年里连续去了北密3次，11年是labor day wkend去了mackinaw city&
pictured rocks, 虽然没有看到传说中的北密秋色，但和密西根的小伙伴们玩的也挺
high. 后面2次是专程为了去看传说中的北密秋色. 只不过12年因为天时地利人和的原
因，看到了美的可以让人窒息的秋色，而13年，因为各种不给力，看到了满山大雾版的
北密秋色。
2014年，虽然居住的地方已经和密西根相隔千里，但心里还是想去看看北密的秋色。跟
以前不同，这次是飞到minneapolis, 然后开车去野猪山，41号公路& brockway drive.

心路历程

本周六正当Irene席卷而来之际，老夫单枪匹马去爬了附近难度较大的Strickler Knob
Trail，可谓不虚此行，且暴风雨更是给此次hiking起到了画龙点睛的作用。内中原委
，请听老夫娓娓道来：

本来听到各种关于Irene的风闻的时候，老夫决定像以往一样“弘扬我佛慈悲之大无畏
精神”，淡然处之。然事与愿违，中间关于Irene功力深厚的各种传闻，网上以及周围
的人跟老夫描述周五晚大家疯狂屯粮的种种情景，使得老夫在关键时刻胆怯了。当时已
经周五晚上，要准备也来不及了，于是老夫决定逆其道而行之，往西面去暂避其锋芒。
后来又想到，既然往西去，要不顺便来个hiking吧；反正很快要2012了，要hiking就来

operated by the Summit themselves, "Kid's Coral" or something like that.
Summit West has a Kid's Coral, and Summit Central has one too. The other
kind of schools are operated by third-party snow schools, they are not
affiliated with Summit, they just use the trails and the cafeteria like
