超过6年以前的state tax有些报了，还有些记不清了（photocopy也丢了）。
打电话到California State Tax Board,被告知
(1)本人不欠任何State Tax
(2)超过6年（2004）以前的state tax filing已经全部销毁,无从查起
请问，面试的时候需要查6年以前的state tax记录吗？如果需要我又该如何向移民官解
释？

个很低的价格让我们结案，被我们拒绝。仔细研究的结果发现这里有很多猫腻。
今天和车祸 Diminished Value 评估的公司交流了一下。评估公司感觉不可理解，这家
公司曾经为State Farm做过很多同样的评估，State Farm都没有意见都接受了。 为什
么这次State Farm不接受这家公司的评估，但是也挑不出毛病。但是对待评估上就是两
套标准。
这算不算歧视？
另外，研究发现这个律师找来的评估公司是一家专门为保险公司服务的公司，不是一家
独立公正的评估公司。
换句话说，这家公司没有资格来做这种个人车辆的损失评估。State Farm使用了这个评
估，算不算欺诈？

不过车的check engine灯亮了，用pocket scan读出来的code是P0421, 也就是需要更换
catalytic converter,否则无法通过NC State Inspection废气排放测试。
问了几家修车铺，价格大概在$800-1300, 太贵，不打算修了。
为了通过State Inspection, 我用pocket scan删除了code P0421，然后跑了78 miles,
check engine的灯没有亮，不过用pocket scan读出来的code是P0421 pending.
请问：
1. check engine的灯没有亮，不过用pocket scan读出来的code是P0421 pending，可
否通过 NC State Inspection?
2. 听说我这种车在删除了code之后，应该跑75 miles然后去做State Inspection，是

代友发文，正在申请今年秋季的PhD，园艺专业，目前收到了NC State和U Maryland at
College Park的offer，不知道该怎么选择，上来请教一下大家。
NC State的专业方向比较喜欢，老板也比较牛，但是奖学金给得比较少，低于该校的平
均水平，好像地方也农村点，据说一般3.5年就能PhD毕业；U Maryland老板也很牛，是
东部几个州的这个方向leader，方向有点偏，听说对学生非常严格，他的学生据说要6
年才能毕业，奖学金给得多点，大概比NC State多3k，地方当然比NC State好很多，但
是相应的，物价水平也高很多。个人倾向与将来做faculty，实在不知道该如何选择，
毕竟PhD的方向几乎会决定今后大半生的前景，所以请前辈们给点建议吧，下周一就必
须要作出决定了，谢谢 |

多税。
背景：加州，申请了产前一周，产后六周的short-term disability insurance
benefit,每周的benefit是$987。因为有一周的grace period，所以最后大概能从State
拿到$6k左右的benefit。
从http://www.edd.ca.gov/Disability/FAQs.htm上看到，这个benefit是免税的(both federal and state income tax)。
问题是公司用我的PTO付full salary和short-term disability insurance的差额，所
以我在leave期间的paycheck还是full salary，然后要把收到的state发的benefit写一
张personal check还给公司。所以我好像需要对这$6k交税，而不仅仅对差额交税。除
了federal and state income tax，还有FICA和Medicare的税也是按照full salary算
得。

State Department Announces EB-2 India/China Immigrant Visa Cut-Off
April 4, 2012
Executive Summary
The State Department has announced that no further EB-2 immigrant visa
numbers will be authorized this fiscal year for applicants with priority
dates of August 15, 2007 or later, effective March 23, 2012. However,
foreign nationals with priority dates earlier than May 1, 2010 can still
file adjustment applications with USCIS through April 30, 2012.

发帖数: 299 | 49 本人持有绿卡超过十年，未婚，现正在申请入美国籍。
以前每年的Federal Tax都报了，最近5年的Stata Tax也报了。
超过6年以前的state tax有些报了，还有些记不清了（photocopy也丢了）。
打电话到California State Tax Board,被告知
(1)本人不欠任何State Tax
(2)超过6年（2004）以前的state tax filing已经全部销毁,无从查起
请问，面试的时候需要查6年以前的state tax记录吗？如果需要我又该如何向移民官解
释？
