spare tires is not the same as yours. If this is the case, you can't
install that spare tire on your car.
Unless you can get a usable spare tire or another full size wheel w/ tire,
you probably have to get it towed for repair.
Is your car front-wheel drive? Which tire gets damaged? If it's the rear
wheel you need a flat-bed towing truck for the job. |

donut spare so as to save money and weight.
They are meant for emergency usage only. Just make sure your spare is
properly inflated, because they often need different (higher) pressure from
the regular tires. |

如果一个盘坏掉spare会进来接替那个坏盘，但是接替需要时间，就是要在
接替的盘上重建冗余，一般需要若干个小时甚至一两天，在这段时间里如果
再有一个盘损坏的话raid就完了，数据会丢失。而raid6是两个冗余盘，所以
任何时刻有两个盘损坏都不会影响数据的完整性，可靠性要大得多。但是速度
会稍微慢一点。 |

盘rebuild时间也挺长的)，如果没有hot spare,找/买 replacement的时间加上
rebuild的时间，这都得至少1，2天；这段时间内第二个是可能坏的；当然是否值得采
取行动取决于你的数据的重要性了。 |

现在还量产的最小的硬盘也有250G吧.而且硬盘也不贵.如果要想数据保险
用RAID1+hot spare要三个盘.
用RAID5+hot spare要四+个盘.
用RAID10/RAID01要四+个盘.
对于第三种,个人觉得LZ的CASE I/O要求没那么高,而且如果要spare的话,要的盘也更多
.RAID1或RAID5就行了.用Hardware RAID和hotplugged换盘多容易呀,而且没有down
time. |

the price as well. Tire pressure monitoring system becomes standard on
every model. But spare tires on many models are reduced to temporary spare
tire (it good my passat has full size spare).
