进来的各位ID，其实我是想问------怎么能更好的和他人相处，尤其是和不熟的人能和
平相处
事情是这样的，我最近搬到湾区，经常参加活动，我自己是比较安静，但不是内向的女
的，我一般不会主动和别人搭话，但是如果别人和我聊起来我还是很和气的尽量能愉快
的谈话。我基本不会和人和人争执，也不是那种很不愿意透露信息的conservative的人
可是最近几次活动发现有几个女的，她们应该是1个朋友圈的吧，好像对我十分有敌
意，我和她们不认识，没有任何过节，并不是我过分敏感，我是能从她们的神情，眼神
里面看出来藏不住的敌意，我出来social是为了平时不闷在家里，当然能交几个朋友就
更好了，我现在也有些这边的朋友，男女都有，只是我有些confused，不知道为甚麽得
罪以上说的那几位女士了
我在这边参加活动的时候很注意穿衣服的场合，化妆也不夸张，打扮还算得体不会太
暴露，应该并没有什么让人不愉快的地方

Ponzi scheme的问题在于许诺高利息回报, 以吸引人们加入. 因为利息很高, 导致付出
的钱多于进来的钱, 这样当人数很多时就爆掉了.
但Social Security并没许诺高息回报, Social Security只保障了基本的生活费用. 总
体来说, 付出的钱和进来的钱是大体上相抵的, 这种即收即付的模式自然可以长期持续.
Social Security本质上是政府强制的社会性储蓄(collective savings). 虽然政府有
缺点, 但与保险公司相比, 未必就会差. |

是的, 当我在"想"死的时候, 其实, 我也意识到了那也是需要勇气的, 不光是通过物理
方式让身体DISFUNCTION,还有在生命终结前的大脑活动, 也是很痛苦的. 我看过一些濒
死体验,觉得那种痛很痛.
还有, 你说的:
"我觉得，这不是social的问题，人如果靠SOCIAL而来的满足或安全感是非常不脆弱的，
因为外部世界原本就非常不可靠（你可以真正依靠谁？）很多人，是可以信任，不是用
来依靠的。

我是那种平时不太social的人, 由于又是一个人住, 很多时候都是自己一个人. 但是内
心里还是很怕孤单的, 特别是在美国这个人少的地方. 一到周末, 就会觉得特别特别难
熬没劲.
但是每次去参加了什么集体活动, 比如去谁家玩什么的, 回来以后总是很兴奋, 睡不着
觉. 脑袋里想着那些别人的话, 别人提到的他们的生活.....可能是自己平淡的生活受
到了冲击吧, 再说工作了一个礼拜可能也没什么和别人打交道的机会, 一次见了几个人
, 就有些和平时不太一样. 因为social回来以后睡不好, 让我对social这件事很犹豫.
这种情况, 如果是去了教会又不会发生. 可能是在教会觉得比较温暖一点吧. 但是我不
是教徒, 所以也不想老是去教会.

收到的w-2上：social security wages 和 medicare wages and tips 都是7000多，
social security tax withheld 和 medicare tax withheld加起来有几百。
这是不是搞错了？该跟那里联系？
如果是对的，在税表上那些地方填这些信息？

我不做这方面，只是randomly的听过几个talk看过几篇paper
比如small world Phenomenon，一方面的研究是用来解释social network中的现象
另一方面能帮助设计算法，比如decentralized search，用local/rough information
去做routing。这个phenomenon和很多p2p的结构有很多内在联系，比如chord。
还听过一个talk是information怎么在social network中传播，在哪些结点广播这些信
息会让信息传播的最广泛。还有疾病的传播模型。
还有socialnetwork的结构和pagerank也有很多联系。
还有在social netowrk中可以mining出来很多有趣的联系，facebook好象用了很多这些
东西。上次yahoo research的头来我们学校，就说需要不少做socialnetwork和
gametheory的人。不过至少从我听到的这些来说都还是很interesting和有意义的，呼
唤专门做这个方向的权威来讲两句，呵呵。 |

发帖数: 5610 | 48 华人不擅长建立social capital，也不参政，这个和中国历史环境有关，皇权和土共太
厉害，没人敢组织。
犹太人以前在全世界被歧视，190x年大规模来美国后，也被歧视，一直到犹太人团体在
全美国考察自己人，挑选有可能竞选成功的犹太人，打电话鼓励他们竞选，团队在后面
出钱出力，一直到不少人做州议员，国会议员，参议员，然后Harvard，Yale，Ivy的学
校才把犹太人的quota去掉。随后犹太人在职场玻璃顶去掉。
黑人以前是奴隶，先是南北战争解放，还是被歧视，后来一直到民权运动，政治上参选
，国会议员，参议员等等，改变法律，让法律保护黑人，随后在职场上只要达到一定标
准，就被录取，并且被联邦保护，各个公司都搞diversity雇人。NAACP还有专门的律师
所，碰到什么事，就免费打官司，搞死对方。
总之，在美国，少数民族要出头，最终还是必须在政治上有大规模人做到国会议员，参
议员，州长助理，州议会，光有钱没用。
老中以前的历史，和建立social capital完全不对路，以前是只要读书，为皇帝卖命就
行。后来是只要读书，为土共卖命就行，其他根本没有路。所以老中的历史习惯确实不

发帖数: 417 | 49 以前白人世界对黑墨只是看不起，没有敌视，所以华人政治比黑墨更难搞，出头的大都
是出卖自己族群利益的，而正规参政维护自己利益的代价太高了。在没有改变被敌视的
时候，冒然组成大的social capital，只是会被当作比较大的靶子打。
可以参考倭人的经验，几十年前他们也被敌视（但没有被看不起），被眼红富裕，他们
的做法包括参股或投资媒体，社区内定期举办活动宣传自己的“友善”，仔细分析自己
文化中可以被接受或推崇的方面（比如柔道融合跆拳道的特点），特意地强化其刻板守
礼的印象，把自己从毒蛇的形象转化为乖宝宝的形象。在此以后，倭人施加政治影响力
才能有所作用。
华人现在被敌视和看不起，华人形象是要么在唐人街的封闭落后形象，要么是居心叵测
的间谍，要么是小丑nerd等。不改变这些，想在政治上得到其他族群的支持太难了。华
人内部四分五裂相互拆台，为了取得外族支持争相出卖自己利益，所以从执行力上来讲
比倭人要难得多。
从以上两方面来看，华人面临的困难比黑墨和倭人都要大。不认识到这一点过于乐观会
在实际操作中碰壁。
真希望有能力的华人势力能够建设至少一个模范社区（不是像acadia那样的仅仅富裕而
