Never played black there (that is what 152 slope for), however even the blue
tee has 147 slope and shares some tee boxes with black.
The course was built on top of Canyons with big drops and wide gaps. A
typical hole requires 100~250yd carry off the tee, after landing on a narrow
fairway (no rough but cliff), you will face another 100+ yd carry over
edges to hit a tiny, elevated, sometime tricky green.

高尔夫素质训练不需要什么特别的,球员每天下场打几个小时,练习还下场就查不过了
,身体特累的时候,还去健身房,我觉得效果不好。
draw绝对比fade靠谱。tiger在2008那期golf digest说,他认为fade让球更远,我觉得
就挺bullshit的,因为第一听人说,历史上。 当然,jack也是打fade出名的。
kenny曾在采访中说,球洞在果岭的右边,我就拿par,在左边,我就拿birdie,在中间,
我50-50.
tiger现在的问题,我个人觉得,是有点想太多了,分析太多情况,特别是果岭上的落
点,他把球在果岭上落点和果岭上的slope一起结合起来考虑,这对击球的质量要求太
高了。 ak击出那么多birdie, 大多时候他就是冲着球洞去的。除非有特别的slope.
当然,我对tiger的swing也不那么欣赏,他的woods还可以。 |

elevation change from teebox to green, and sloping left/right fairway, it's
hard to see where balls landed and where it rolled to after tee shot. lost
ball frequently, contributing to a lot of penalty strokes. our pace was
quick for 100 plus strokes, so not much time looking for balls.
once realize that it's high-slope course, okay with the score. still think
it was a fun outing, actually pumped up a bit playing foursome 18 ho |

有可能性意味着实际就是负5杆的水平,对于业余球手已属不易. SLOPE超过130,恐怕就
不容易了(即使专业球手也难达到). Tiger的Par 4 Birdie rate也不过是17.46%.

i checked calippe hole #3 par5, from the large right side
fairway bunker to center of green, it is only 112 yard or so. (somebody else
mapped Callippe from black tee)
but the cart GPS read 130, so I took 8 iron swing easy for the 3rd shot. over shoot to hills beyond and
outside the cart part and green. made a tripple (had to pitch over a bunker back to down slope green).

你打出low 80最后有single digit 也一点不奇怪。
handicap要有超过10场的成绩才能得出一个结论。usga的比较正规些。

slope, avg the 10 best scores (adjusted score),
if your best 10 of last 20 rounds is 9, you should be a 9. when calculate
handi, only the best 10 count. it is normal for handi 9 to shoot some high
scores, what is why handi system only count the best 10 out of last 20.
but keep in mind, you need use the course rating and slope to adjust your
raw score first. say on a easy course, you shot 85, after adjust, it might

year, I had a game with a friend on money. I had only +1 for first 7 holes
and was thinking it could be a day I broke 80. I lost my drive in a Lateral
Hazard on hole 8, and two clubs from the point the ball entered was a steep
slope with messy rough. In front of the slop was 100 yards pond. I hit two
balls into that pond and ended up a +7 on that 550 yard par 5.

最近挥竿的IDEA还比较有效,发挥的也比较好,总共5次bad swings including 2 bad
pitch/chip. 今年的第二次上场打求,.该球场今年首次,打出我在该场地的最好成绩成
绩了. 3h and 4i-6i mostly solid, 对我来说超水平发挥了.
我觉得这个球场难点主要有:
1) 挥竿不实在的话, 基本三轮,太容易丢球, lots of forced carry, some holes
requires precise carry to have good chance for par. For instance, hole #11
177 par3 when pin is cut at right side green, #hole 18 is guarded by canyon
at front, but green slope a lot from back to front.

Snow is still down to 5k on the north slopes with a cople feet still above
6000 feet. If you go from a south facing slopes patchy snow above 5500 then

别人的车了,实在是晕。星期六早上6点整在Silver star的起点(mile 166)准时ready
to go。Ed问我为啥来这个climb,我老老实实地说因为我连这个山的名字都没听说过
,在summitpost和我们club的网站上都查不到任何信息,所以我喜欢;越没人爬、越稀
奇古怪的我越喜欢… 在路边就能看到那一溜犬牙形状的山脊了,从Silver star到Big
Snagtooth。一出发就是一小段boulder上的下坡,有点trail吧,从一棵倒下的树杆上
过河以后,就跟trail说再见了。Silver star好歹在小树林里还是有trail的,这个是
彻彻底底什么也没有的,no trail no mark,就靠一个140的bearing穿小树林。有些地
方树稀松一些还可以脚踏实地的走;有些地方植被太密集了,根本看不见较小的路,只
能深一脚浅一脚踩到谁算谁…
进了小树林以后,就不太看得到上面的那条山脊了。我们主要就是按照140的bearing往

steeper slope allows gravity to do all the work. even steeper slope needs
some wedging or forceful parallel turns. turning direction at high speed
requires quicker and smaller stepping. The tolerance of mistakes is less

. If you are going fast on a steep slope, fall and glide for a long distance
before you stop, the impact is nowhere as bad as a sudden fall and stop on
a gentle slope with medium speed. It's the energy baby. |

edge control, on easy green slopes, but when starring down steep bumpy crud
powder, loses their form very quickly. I have no problem carving

uneven moguls, half-baked 3 feet deep crud powders, I can't find my rhythm,

The day was very very powder on the slopes with fresh snow all day (it was
actually snowing). The body position is a lot more backward when compared
to traditional skis. And your quad muscles are consistently engaged. It's
a lot easier to control on steeper slope due to the shorter lengths. And
the lighter weight as makes is that much better on a powder day. Personally

bouncing on the slope before coming to a stop at the foot of the slope where
it levels out. After that fall, I have always worn a helmet even on blue
runs. It just gives me the peace of mind. |

老ALTA 来作证: Alta does have a baby slope with rope tow, besides the
leveled connection rope, open free all day long for anyone. I taught my
daughter and many others skiing on that baby slope.
I do know an Alta skiing coach who can ski free anytime not on duty with her
children too, as benifit. |
