Don't wait till snow melted partially then frozen. The shell on top makes it
very difficult to shovel.
2. PUSH, DON'T LIFT
Use the shovel like a plow. Push the way out instead of lifting. At the end
of the way, try kick the shovel forwards-upwards, so that you don't have to
lift. |

small. I was trolling the clearance section at Target and these full sized
shovels were marked down (along with lots of other seasonal garden stuff) to
just $2.49 more the the mini shovel. The mini-shovel is perfect in the
trunk of my car, but for bigger projects this will do a better job.
Hopefully you find this and some other good deals in your Target clearance
section.

bit of slop. It should take no more than 45 minutes to finish with regular
push mower. Getting some exercise is not a bad thing.
For short driveway, if you don't regularly get 4+ inch deep snowfalls, I
would suggest a shovel instead of snow blower. Cheap, reliable, and
maintenance free. And you get a good work out too. Even if you get tired
of shoveling and buy a snowblower later, you would still need that shovel to

more than enough.
Don't expect a ditch or edgers can block them, they will simply go 4" under
your ditch or edgers. You have to reprune the root year over year :) And you
have to cut along the whole diameter. They know how to work their way
around.
And a mattock takes upper arm strength. In case you don't enough, try a
shovel, on which you can step on, and so use your weight. A stomp on the
