“We are at a wonderful ball where the champagne sparkles in every glass and
soft laughter falls upon the summer air. We know at some moment the black
horsemen will come shattering through the terrace doors wreaking vengeance
and scattering the survivors. Those who leave early are saved, but the ball
is so splendid no one wants to leave while there is still time. So everybody
keeps asking – what time is it? But, none of the clocks have hands.”

A bus supporting Mrs. Clinton's candidacy was parked outside the event.
It came as little surprise that Mrs. Clinton, a former senator from New York
, chose this bookstore as her first stop on a publicity blitz, as it
represents a bit of a home-court advantage. As of Tuesday, Mrs. Clinton’s
book tour did not include stops in the crucial election battleground states
of Iowa, New Hampshire and Ohio.
The crowd on Tuesday included the young (Katrina Yoder pulled her 16-year-

Little orphans in the snow
With nowhere to call a home
Start their singing, singing
Waiting through the summertime
To thaw your hearts in wintertime
That's why they're singing, singing
Waiting for a sign
To turn blood into wine
The sweet taste in your mouth
Turned bitter in its glass
Israel, in Israel
Israel, in Israel
Shattered fragments of the past
Meet in veins on the stained glass
Like the lifeline in your palm
Red and green reflects the scene
Of a long forgotten dream
There were princes and... 阅读全帖

http://foreignpolicy.com/2015/06/25/korean-war-anniversary-why-
Beijing's support for Pyongyang during the Korean War tells us why it still
backs Kim today.
Sixty-five years ago, on June 25, 1950, the Soviet-equipped North Korean
army struck south of the 38th parallel. The ensuing three years of seesaw
warfare turned much of the Korean Peninsula into ashes: Up to 3 million
Koreans were killed or wounded before the two sides signed a cease-fire in
July 1953. Millions more were left to pick up pie... 阅读全帖
