just a few min each time.
Here is a secret many of you may not know, a sharp blade produce a clean cut
, a dull blade torn off the grass instead of cut it. Clean cut grass will
look greener, torn grass will look brown and easy to catch disease. I
sharpen the blade on the mower after each cut, but only balance the blade
once or twice per season (which require the blade to be taken off the mower
and takes more time)

If you have AL or plastic deck, you might be ok.
But I suggest you sharpen the blade each time.
After pressure washer, I sharpen the blade and spray a little wd-40 when
done to prevent rust.
If you do it every time, it only take about 5 min to do the whole thing.
Sharp blade will make cut grass look nice and less chance of catching
disease.
Dull blade torn grass (instead of a clean cut), your lawn will look brown.

美国速度滑冰协会建议少年、儿童从短道速滑开始学。下面主要列出短道速滑的装备：
1）冰鞋（boots）：初级可塑型鞋$200-250
2）冰刀（blades）:初级刀$180-200
3）比赛级头盔（helmet）：LAS或LG或Maple的，$100；初学者可以用自行车、滑雪或

以上主要是装备的花销，关键是要看你所在地区有无俱乐部，参加俱乐部一个年度（一

基本的工具，至少两个grit level的磨石，粗磨石可以用1000，细磨石3000－6000，
如果口子已经很钝，就先粗磨，后细磨。一般美国刀和德国刀的primary edge角度大概
是22.5度每面，两面合起来就是45度。日本刀可能角度不一样，比如shun，16度每面，
加起来就是32度。
磨的时候尽量保持原来的角度，除非你想重新开口。一般来说是没有必要，这要根据刀
子的钢材来定，钢材越好，角度可以越小。
手稳是关键，就是角度保持一致。向前磨向后磨我都见过，我倾向于粗磨时向前磨(
against the edge)，这样有助于去除磨刀过程中产生的卷口。你提到的，一边锋利，
一边不锋利，那就是卷口了。这时候就不能再用粗磨石，先用小一点力道在粗磨上
strop几下，把卷口捋直了，然后移到细磨石上再磨。
这个时候可以用一样的动作向前磨（角度千万要掌握好），也可以向后磨（strop），
安全一些。
时常地要去掉卷口——这里有一个视频，可以看看，大概在2：30秒的地方。这招非常
有用。

Actually, for starters, you can get an iron (no steam) and set the
temperature to wool. You can find tons of vedeo clips from the web teaching
you how to wax and tuning.
My tuning is much more than that, and it involving diamond stone's
sharpening. But I don't think that westerners need that because sharpening
applies only to those who want to carve in high speed, especially in eastern
hard surface. |

mogul skiing, but you still can use it to ski mogul runs. Bump skiing is
the hardest skill to master within a resort's boundary. It really depends
on the snow condition and the shape of bumps.
That was my thought about getting a pair of all-it-can-do skis. But I
realized that it was not possible when I used my AC50 in the west's deep
powder and in the east's icy big mogul. I'll still bring my AC50 to the

Every time you sharpen your skis, you take some metal away from the edges.

到最後無法再 sharpen 了 的時候 板子就廢掉了! base edge 一但磨了 - 就要考慮
base (p-tex) 是否也要 structure 了 ... 而 sharpening 的目的是磨利 - 這樣子
磨 side edge 就夠了! 一般一副板子 edge 可磨的次數是有限的 ... 如果每隔七八
十或者一百個滑雪天就換板子的話 - 不用考慮磨 base edge ... 換一個角度來說 ...
如果板子滑太久而到了要磨 base edge 的地步 - 磨了 base edge 之後 是不是 p-
tex 也差不多很老舊破爛了也要換了呢? 如果真是到了那個地步 - 結論還是換板子!
所以建議: 一副板子最多滑七八十個滑雪天就該換了!

性能有最高追求的话可以每次都打，每次根据温度选择不同的蜡。
每次打蜡的时候可以顺便sharpen side edge. Base edge一般不要碰, 等base上划痕太
多的时候去stone grind的时候sharpen base edge. |

Don't enlarge
Resolution 300 pixel per inch

不知道这个setting合不合理，我估计改成600dpi和sharpen改成high应该能更好一些，
但照片肯定更大了。不知道大家的设置都是怎么样的？ |
