comparable jets.
Therefore, it can take off from BOS short runway, with full load of cargo
and fuel.
787 is capable to fly non-stop serivce from BOS to PEK as well.

费制度，只要小费给好了，service可以让你很舒服。我很小气的，平时吃饭都只给15%
的，上礼拜在北边的风水吃饭被waiter搞得不爽了，就只给了10%不到。但是出门在外
，人生地不熟的，小费省不得。当然这off topic了。
回到中美服务业者的对比，我觉得美国的更professional, 但我更enjoy中国的，是有
点矛盾，为什么？这就是人种，文化层次上的差异了。回到上海，我到了店里可以和服
务员聊天开玩笑，人和人之间的natual bonding，那种亲切感让我很enjoy, 但他们提
供的service呢，或者说在收到国内制度框架制约的serivce, 我觉得不如美国的。当然
3年前我回去的时候，发现除了高档商店，几乎所有的服务员都变成了外地人了，这个
就要打很大折扣了。
但我觉得很奇怪，你到了浦东机场就觉得服务好？那帮体制内的海关，边防基本都属于
欠揍的，航空公司的当地工作人员还不错，不过美国这边也都很好，我时不时都会有些
小要求，他们都有求必应的。 |

我自己也去机场问了。那里基本没人。终于在co的行李处找到个人。说听说过这事儿。
就是登机的时候要出个授权信。还说不是强制但最好notary.我觉得这个靠谱。
美产小孩单程肯定不行，双程要陪同人也有回程票。这个co以前可能执行不严。但估计
和UA合并以后多了臭规矩。
楼上那位说在律师那里花$200的，其实只要去某些UPS store或其他提供public notary
serivce的地方就可以了。上次我办个文件，$3一份。

您只能等我卖了自己赚包子发了。

我可以ping，可以VPN，可以用Outlook查邮件，甚至有的
8080端口的网站也可以访问。但就是普通的browser上网不
行。我怀疑是我的80端口被block了。打电话给customer
serivce也没用，他们也看不出啥问题。过了一两天自己又好了，
然后一个星期不到问题又开始了。
有人碰到同样的问题吗？怎么证明80端口被Comcast无端block呢？
我从不用P2P下载，顶多上网，看看Netflix，AppleTV等而已。 |

近日一张《2016年科大各院（系）本科学生进出人数统计表》图标四处流传。
每年四百人学物理？
8月3日，北京大学教授饶毅在朋友圈转发该图。中国科大内部人士证实了数据真实性。
该表显示：15级本科新生大一结束后，实有289人选择物理学院。少年班学院内可任选
专业不在本表中。据悉15级新生总数约1793人，其余各学院合计1441人。15级少年班学
院人数约为352人（1793-1441）。据了解：少年班学院有1/3选择物理。照此推算，中
国科大15级本科生竟有289+352/3=406人学物理。
这是一个令人惊讶的数字！一窝蜂学物理，必将在未来十年内吞下苦果！中国科大应采
取有效措施，扭转病态局面！
400人不包括化学物理（3系，属化学院）、地球物理、空间物理、大气物理（属地空学
院）、核学院（核物理，与4系近代物理差别不大）、近代力学、热科学（又称热物理
，部分高校称工程热物理）等物理专业。若计入所有物理相关学生，中国科大一年恐怕
有近600名本科生学物理，恐怖么？

Most likely truth: iPhone 4的天线总体改善了信号，网上有很多报告称，以前容易
drop call的地方，call drop减少，或以前的iPhone难以打通电话的地方，iPhone 4可
以打，后者是Gizmodo的编辑报告的。
Truth: 所有的手机的天线都会受手握的影响。否则Nokia, HTC的说明书也不会说避免
接触手机的某些部位，是不是？苹果的视频就是要说明这一点。
Most likely truth: iPhone 4的weak spot比其他手机的weak spot更受触摸影响，因
为iPhone 4可以被触摸到searching或no serivce。其他手机降若干格到没有格，但是
手机基本上没有进入searching或no service。
Truth: 苹果的工程师和任何工程师，都知道触摸天线会影响信号。苹果之所以发售这
样的iPhone是因为苹果的工程师经过测试不认为这是一个大的问题，应该是设计上的选

，把 一个port forward 到NAS上serivce port。比如，把router上的21000port
forward到NAS上port 21。这样从外面就可以用port 22000来直接访问NAS上的FTP
server了。一般不要用同样的port（比如forward port 21 on router to port 21 on
NAS)，这样会稍微secure一点。
另外就是在router上装个VPN了。这样是最完善的方法。NAS上所有的功能都可以用。因
为你已经在家里的LAN上了。
没有static IP可以用网上的dynamic DNS service。google一下有很多。比如freeDNS.

the second part, sending a file to another machine, is not easy.
Basically you have two choices: 1) if the remote machine has file
transfer serivce such as ftp on, then you can use this service as
the underlying protocol/application to transfer files. 2) write a simple
sever-client file transfer protocol/aapllicaiotn by yourself. |
