ads确实应用广，但是如果拿ads附属产品和search核心算法比，显然后者个人收获更大
，另外lucene也只是个library，search has way more than indexing/searching
话又说回来这两个都是成熟产品，想在G快速出人头地还是得靠新兴项目
（不是bso，真心想听听局外人的看法）
如果可以选择这两个group，从career发展的角度大家觉得哪个好？
个人觉得ads以后路更宽一点，毕竟外面做这个的公司很多。
而search除了google几乎就没地方去了，小公司基本都直接用lucene。
但是google search的名气大，是不是即使转方向这个背景也有帮助？

楼主也堪忧，既然在做search, 那就search一下 "google search api" 或 "bing
search api" 就有些结果。一定量以内是免费。
如果量大又要免费， 那就自己分析一下goolge/bing的页面怎么发http request去
search, 你照做就是.但是返回的结果是html,你得自己parse, 而且这个不是API,所以
syntax 随时可能变。还有可能有throttling. |

这是最近的例子，我买SATA cable（接内置硬盘的）的时候，发现有些是UV sensitive
的。我就很奇怪为什么机箱内的cable会需要UV sensitive的。于是就search "sata
cable uv sensitive"，结果出来的全都是卖SATA cable的网站。如果把search改成
something like“why is sata cable uv sensitive”也没什么用。你有什么好办法？
最近google search results改进了界面，左边有一个“Fewer shopping sites”的

因为以前不是做这个领域的，做了一点功课，但还是不太熟悉，
想向板上各位兄弟请教一下。
首先这种enterprise(intranet) search和常见的internet search
相比，最大的区别在哪里，特别是从搜索方法上看？我感觉都是对
各类文档网页做index，不过前者还要考虑structured documents，
比如数据库或者工作流软件的数据。
其次这个方向的应用前景如何？市场上主要的竞争者有哪些？据我
所知，google， MS， IBM好像都有相关的产品。
最后，这个方向和所谓的Business Intelligence有什么关系？
我以前主要的方向是AI和Planning & Scheduling,不知道能不
能用上点以前搞过的东西。
