today.
Once, 在一个大跌的日子，I also cannot use Money Direct in Scottrade. I
called them; they said their service was down on that specific day. So when
it is a good time to buy/sell, Scottrade does not want us to have any
operation.
Like Shorting a stock, when it is good to short, you always cannot borrow
stock from Scottrade. When it is a bad situation, it is very easy to borrow
stock. So be cautious with Scottrade. |

言归正传，刚开了roth IRA的户头。开之前，在本版考古一下。谢谢zhyuan的开户总结
。很有用。
我最后选择了scottrade.
说说我的考虑吧
1.我个人主要想投资股票。
首先，年纪还没到考虑退休的时候，完全可以承担风险。其次，我的401k已经全部买了
mf。因此这部分钱，roth ira,完全可以采用更激进的投资策略。最后，我是很看好现
在的股市。
2.选择scottrade的原因
我已经在scottrade有个股票账户。基本满意。交易费7刀，没有其他费用，这对于中长
线投资还是比较有吸引力的。另，原来考虑过Zecco，但是不少人反映比较客服烂。而
且，在scottrade关闭不需要任何费用。过一段时间要是不满意的话，我可以随时起义
的。呵呵。
希望这些对想在4.16前开户的朋友有用 |

scottrade才给了几块钱利息，想想要是放到saving里得有好几百利息了。
可惜Scottrade没有money market fund。现在想在scottrade选一个最接近money
market fund的投资产品，请问各位大侠有何推荐。看了看bond fund，似乎亏本的几率
还是蛮大的，worst 3 month return都有-3.x%。
我想找一个基本没有风险，收益又比cash稍高的，请大侠指教。 |

我用以下的screen标准在scottrade找到6个fund，只有这个expense ratio最小，
standard deviation最小，收益基本都是正的。从98年到08年10年中只有04年Q2是负0.
28，其他quarter全都为正收益。
在morningstar用类似条件搜索出一些，与在Scottrade搜出的6个只有这个是唯一的交
集。

In scottrade, you can electronic transfer from your bank account to scottrade
account (via ACH) the same day, but not backwards. Calling scottrade to ask
for a check and deposit into your bank takes a lot of time, and lose interests
during the meantime. In firstrade, you can electronic transfer both ways (2-3
days). Isn't that great?

The best thing you can do now is either close it and find a new broker, or
withdraw large portion of your money out from Scottrade. And tell Scottrade
why you do in this way. Then, maybe, just maybe, Scottrade can have some
improvement. But never hold your expection too high.
When it is bad, it is bad. You cannot do anything about it.
When it is good, it is good. You don't need to do anything about it, either.
Good luck with your account.

我在三个帐号里透，设了完全一样的单子。
其他两个帐号，在价钱一到我设定的位置，立马就给完成交易了（今天2：24PM），并
发了邮件确认。而之后，我的steaming quotes 显示在那个价位还交易了很多单子。
可是，scottrade 到现在（3：29PM）了， 还没有完成我的交易。当然，价钱也变了，
害我直接损失30%。

每次我从花旗香港的账号赚美元到Scottrade账号（设在了花旗北美在香港的branch)
假如我要把scottrade里的钱转回到花旗香港的账号，如果我选transfer，
要填入银行的routing number，但是花旗香港并没有routing number
然后我看到一个withdraw的选项，好像这个才是我这种international的选择
除了这个没觉得transfer和withdraw有什么区别

transaction fee on most of its mutual funds, though there are still about 900
no-load NTF funds that you can still make a good profolio out of. Everyone at

说说不好的地方：
1. 整体的交易平台感觉没有TD专业，资源多，用起来顺手，TD的command 2很强大。TD的istockmanager在我的
iphone上用着很好，开车没电脑或离开办公室开会的时候也能随时看实时行情，做交易。scottrade的mobile application
好像没有streaming quotes的。
2. 盘前后不能sell short & buy cover. 另外它的extended hours 交易系统和正常时间交易是相互独立的两套系统，正常
时间下的单不含extended hours, extended hours orders 必须到了pre & after market的时间才能下单, 不可提前，这
一点比TD差远了，TD可以选择GTC+EXT,不必要到了时间再下单。这个很重要。
3. scottrade工作人员感觉没有TD的人水平高，我打过几次电话，感觉人员素质一般，有两次竟然出现了不知道要问别人
的情况。

蒙各位指点，在n周前我终于在scottrade开户。简单介绍一下学生开户流程。先上网填
写资料,包括ssn号，最后一步会要求你去local office完成。打印出申请表，签上名字
，带上驾照，就可以去找local office了。我是隔了一周再去的，之间他们还打电话了
催过。（我办完一切之后他们还打电话来，看来他们之间信息传递也不杂的）
缴税问题,用ssn号开就逃不走了吧.要不就回中国开,scottrade国内似乎有代理,有此信息的请补充.
scottrade在我们这有几个office，挑了个近的，还挺难找的（比什么星霸克咖啡）难
找多了，反正俺是找不到，于是打电话问。对方说就在星霸克对面。按照指示终于在一
排小店的二楼找到，看上去就像个旅行社。提示：下次出行前先问清楚具体地址，
google等地图，导航软件找这种地方有难度.
进门看见office挺大，只有四个桌子，三个人，一个在看报纸，一个在上网，还有一个
坐门口（国企？）于是找门口的那个，说明来意递上材料，复印驾照，告诉reference

从我那里转。
问题是SCOTTRADE将来会不会把他的CAPITAL GAIN算在我的头上，给我寄1099呢。因为

sold covered-calls would be availabe to use tomorrow (Tuesday).
But I have determined to switch to another broker, at least withdraw
majority of my money to another broker. Scottrade is really bad.

the order at bid or ask depends on your order.

按照1040上的要求：我没有CPITAL LOSS并且SCOTTRADE税表上2b,2c,2d为零，我可以不
填写SCHEDULE D和8949表。
