去年十二月真是湿冷。接连五日的暴雨终于过去时，我们的房子已赫然被一汪小小的池
沼环绕。前院的西红柿淹死了，拖着湿淋淋的黑叶子；猫们一动不动地挤在阴湿的窝里
，对着一面被雨水洗褪了色的红墙发呆。整个圣芭芭拉城都糊在雨里，仿佛一幅打湿了
的水彩——天空的铅灰、大海的苍白、瓦屋顶的酡红、路边灌木的深绿相互侵染，使每
一种颜色都愈加阴暗。
直至月晦，天始转晴。困在家中这么多天，眼看新年将至，我想我太需要一次远行了。
于是我们就出发。新历的除夕早晨，我们跳上车，沿着北1号高速公路驶去。这一趟来

that, they would be too salty. Add some ground pepper into the salty water
will bring more fragrance flavor, and more 'oil'. :)
