发帖数: 1361 | 2 从Cody出发向Riverton开，这之后几乎都是road而不是trip.
气候的确越来越干燥，依然在Rocky Mountain里面开，但是地势比较平坦。
在干燥的平原上，但凡看到河流和湖泊心情都会变得特别愉快。
Cody的气温很高，正午十分应该都有个100 F 即使是晚上也不凉快，还有各种哈雷
车队突突突，其实睡得还挺不好的。逼近Riverton的时候，气温降下来了，又见到了
Wind River, 依旧是峡谷中流淌河水，穿过两个tunnel便来到河流下游平坦的冲击平原
上。开这一段心情特别平静，算是这次roadtrip的一个转折点。这种平静的感觉正是我
突然失去，又特地开始roadtrip寻找的,就这么突然降临了。
Riverton真的只是个中转站，很有趣的是，在高速旁边的牌子写着， Riverton ,
population 10650(?) elevation 4901 (?) 住的Motel有一些看起来很古旧的家具但是
很舒适，于是坐下来好好的写写这些天的事情。

生新手主要划B C段, 男生主要划A D 段, 起保护作用的同学交叉替换, 争取每位男同

房况：Chateau 公寓十三层，卧室东北朝向，采光不错，要完全避光拉上大窗帘即可；
卧室里 queen size 床一张，书桌两张，灯五盏，壁橱一个，你都可以用。
免费提供冷热水、电、煤气、互联网、空调、冰箱、微波炉。
室友：有一中国男室友住客厅，性格腼腆，很好相处，转租一事已经跟他沟通过。
交通：这几年来我一直步行上学，到东岸校园15-20分钟，西岸校园20-30分钟；
楼下有公交车站，到 Downtown 去上班或看电影都很方便。
周边：Dinkytown 这一带是生活区。两个区块内，餐馆很多（中餐馆就有三四家），
理发店三家，零售店一家，CVS超市一家，不必自己开车外出（甚至不用自己做饭）
也可以过得比较滋润。
时间：我5月22日离开，8月30日回来。你的入住时间我们可以具体商量，
5月20日至7月25日期间入住应该都行，越早越好。

去哪条 trail 骑？ GAP? Montour? Three-River?
上周五骑了一段 GAP，从 Waterfront Mall 到 Boston PA，感觉体力还行，就是没啥风景，两
边都是仓库和铁路。唯一一个不错的景点是 Riverton Bridge。后来从 McKeesport 坐 61C 公
交车回来的。Boston 往下风景不错。

风景：
3. Homestead PA - Boston PA（不是麻州那个波士顿！）
这段实际上就在Pittsburgh市内和市郊。Homestead出发点就在Waterfront mall。除了
那座Riverton Bridge之外，其他乏善可陈，不值一看。而且在McKeesport有些路段在
人行道上。建议忽略这段，从波士顿开始（或在波士顿结束）。
2. Ohiopyle PA - Meyersdale PA
这段大部分路程是沿着河流修的，在树木茂密的森林中骑行。trail的旁边就是
Cassleman River，河对岸是CSX公司（仍在使用的）铁路。风景不错。沿途有多座桥梁
和一个隧道（未开通须绕行）。全长1908尺（582米）高100尺（31米）的Salisbury
Viaduct是全线最长最高的桥梁，景色迷人。

点Riverton, Herriman也有些。Single family house 那么小在这偏地区的很少。

National Academy of Engineering Elects 66 Members and 10 Foreign Associates
WASHINGTON — The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) has elected 66 new
members and 10 foreign associates, announced NAE President Charles M. Vest
today. This brings the total U.S. membership to 2,254 and the number of
foreign associates to 206.
Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest

Getting in can be grueling.
Students may be asked to submit a 15-page typed research paper, an original
short story, or a handwritten essay on the historical figure they would most
like to meet. There are interviews. Exams. And pages of questions for
parents to answer, including: How do you intend to help this school if we
admit your son or daughter?
These aren't college applications. They're applications for seats at charter
schools.
