Trail Rides: Experience clean air, natural sights and local wildlife such as
deer, wild turkeys and red tailed hawks on a 45-50 minute ride through 2 1/
2 miles of scenic trails through the park. Rides start at 10 am and continue

Newton. Stopped to buy Chinese Newspaper next to station, a lot of people
just gave up waiting for subway. This guy came to me to ask me for a ride to
somehwere close to BU and said he could not afford a taxi.
I was scarey too, but I thought if I did not give him a ride, I could not go
to sleep that night. So I did give him a ride, he did say: I am not a
killer or something, before I agreed to give him a ride.

I'm seeking 2 people to share the ride with. People with driving experience
are preferred( It's a long trip and I think it'd be safer if we can share

am talking about are somewhat like races, just no cost and no award money.
There are attacks and chases (some rides only allow them at specific places
and then regroup), the whole 9 yards. You are comparing yourself with the
bunch in every ride. racing is the best training. Hammer (training) rides
are next to racing (almost as dangerous as well)...

bike, learn how to handle the bike, and get to know your strengths/
weaknesses.
Once you are confident on the bike and you know your limits, THEN go to a
group ride. Pick one that rides slightly faster than your comfortable solo
speed. So, suppose you can comfortably average 16 mph, try a group that
averages 17-18 mph.

我们这边的组有平均速度以及骑行距离的要求。同时每个月会有introductory ride，
让新人体会能不能跟得上，同时争取不让新人掉队。如果你参加的这次group ride不是
这种introduction的性质还是不要思想负担太重，做好掉队的准备。准备好手机，零钱
，地图等，这样掉队也能回家。
以下是我们local group关于携带东西的要求。你可以具体询问你们local group的联系
人。
• Equipment: A roadworthy bike, 2 spare inner tubes, tyre levers
and a pump
• Food: A snack (e.g. banana/cereal bar) is often appreciated by
the cyclist

就是卖我lietspeed的哥们儿，前两次Epic 8 Hour等台领奖的队友，他在Donut Ride里
也算是elite级的了，不过他嫌今天天气冷说不来了。零下一度，风冷零下9度，还飘小
雪，的确不是最佳天气。
我不管了，好不容易有机会，再冷也去。穿了上次美国新买的Gore牌tights和PEARL
iZUMi的jacket，都超级防风御寒，强烈推荐。今天唯一不到位的是我的booties，太薄
，脚趾头冻没了。
前半程都还能在4/50人的peloton里跟的很好，后来上Keele往北骑，逆风，上坡。等过
了小镇Maple后我突然发现自己的position非常不好，其他人都single file在我边上，
我骑了一阵后就撑不住了，其他人这时就都从我身边把我超了，等我反映过来时已经太
晚，累了，没能够及时提速跟着group的tail，结果就又一次被Donut Ride无情地drop
掉了。
一个人骑了剩下的10来公里到中间休息的bakery店，发现居然没人，看来大队伍都骑大

这种路上的偶遇，超或被超基本没多大参考价值，因为以下两点：
I) 你不知道你对比的rider是啥水平，你以为你知道，其实你不知道，period
Ii) 你不知道对方今天是easy or hard ride
If you are serious about training for performance, 80% of your ride should
be easy or relatively easy ride. Make it really easy on your easy day so
that you can drive it really hard on your hard day. Easy to say, but it is
probably the hardest thing to do. I know I did not do it well at least for
the first 6 years of my riding. 呵呵 |

我儿子就快7岁了，算是偏胆小的，
不过这些ride，他很喜欢，有些要翻滚的ride，
他身高刚刚够，我自己看着害怕，也没让他去玩，我告诉他，等他再长高些再去
有些ride，开始问他，他也说不去，
我能感觉到他有心去尝试的，可是还是有点点害怕
感觉就是他自己也很纠结，又想去，又不敢去
这时，我会鼓励一下，一般试过一次，就很喜欢了
小孩子身体放松，玩起来还是很兴奋的

American Diabetic Association组织一个全国性的自行车charity ride： Tour De
Cure(TDC), 主要目的是为糖尿病的防治研究募捐。
上个周末，TDC在Cary, North Carolina这一站进行了两天的ride。
参与募捐和骑行的自行车手当然是整个活动的主角，但是我想借照片讲一下参加这个活
动的志愿者们。可以说，整个活动的后勤支持是百分之百地依靠志愿者的辛勤劳作还有商家的慷慨捐赠。

简单拍一下，CP的rides太多，一天很难全部都坐上，都坐上下来也要晕菜
推荐几个必去的ride
Millium Force -- cp的老招牌，建议傍晚坐，因为漫长的爬坡过程可以看到
晚霞倒映在广阔的湖水，幸运的话可以看到圆月，然后就是一坠千尺
Wicked Twister -- 因为是cp的独创，所以一定要做，貌似别的地方没有
很有创意的过山车，最高点很爽，对过扇车有点麻痹了，这是我第二次去的一个亮点
Skyhawk -- 没做过，去年建的，看起来很爽啊啊！！以我的经验，这种巨型秋千
比过山车有意思多
Maxair -- 很爽阿！！如果我今年去一定坐
Demon Drop -- 很爽很爽，但是很恐怖很恐怖。。。 十个人能有一个人敢上就不错
Power Tower -- CP居然有四个tower，两个向上两个向下接近1g的加速度 |

Plan to ride lake washington loop (50 miles) + lake sammamish loop (22 mile)
+ ttransition (around 25 mile). If you feel tired, you can quit after lake

完成的。
几乎一年没有recreational ride了，就是连commute也是屈指可数的几次。这次看环法
自行车赛，突然心血来潮就决定今天去骑车了。
昨天跑完tempo以后，曾经稀里糊涂做了很久的hamstring weight training, 结果今天
早上大腿后面还是很酸，也没管它，就开始准备自行车和装备到了10点多，喝了一碗麦
片粥，就出发了。临出发看天气预报，似乎不热，89度，就托大只带了两瓶水,一个半升，一个0.6升。
从家里去秃头山的路从来就没有找到合适的路程，我这次走了新的路线，结果稀里糊涂
进入了 Claremont Colleges (好像有五个学校在一起）的校园，等到我走出这个大迷
宫，发现我已经进入另一个city了。
掉头回去以后，我今天的ride就名副其实成为 half century ride 了。
进入Mt Baldy Road的第一段，还没有开始陡坡的这一段热身，过去几次我都是最大档
毫不费力就上去，这次居然觉得有点累了，心里就知道这次会非常累 |

发帖数: 12977 | 48 unless you are training everyday, it's hard to beat commuting in term of
frequency and time.
Commutings are not created equal, in my case, I have 33 mile, a big climb,
and a few miles of really good bike lane that I usually ride at my utmost
speed.
Of course, i don't have a club or riding team to ride with, and I don't have
a race goal, so commuting is the best training for me, in fact, the only
training for me. |

发帖数: 472 | 49 I agree that not all commute routes are created equal. Lucky are those with
good choices. But creative thinking may improve the quality of ride for the
rest. Ride to work builds a great training foundation. It blends well with
our busy schedule.
I would think it would help the group rides in the long run. |

tell you this now: the group Jerry is riding with averaging 20mph is a lot
more dangerous than the group I am riding with that is quite a bit faster. |
