Singapore pop singer looks to her parents as living testimonials of LKY's

I am a product of the late 1970s. At the edge of Gen X, not quite Gen Y.
Those in my generation have parents who are part of the "grateful old" - a
term I coined not to offend, but in recognition of the fact that they had
witnessed the transition from what was to what is under the rule of the PAP.

You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Women have puzzled over it for years — why the heck do men do the things
they do? Why do they profess their love for you one minute, then ignore you
the next (say, when an Attila the Hun special turns up on TV)? Why can they
not remember our birthdays? Let science explain some of these conundrums —
and help you rev up your relationships!

remember <- function() {
memory <- list()
f <- function(...) {
memory <<- append(memory, list(...))
# invisible()
}
structure(f, class = "remember")
}
locs <- remember()
vals <- remember()
zero <- uniroot(tee(g,locs, vals) , c(-5,5))

Guess she gave you things, I didn't give to you.
Old friend, why are you so shy?

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited.
ButI couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.

Joke: Presidential Debate 2012, Act III
10/22/2012
By Limin Wang
In the evening of October 16, 2012, at the Smack Complex of Hofstra
University on Long Island, New York, President Obama and former governor
Romney had the second finger-to-finger presidential debate. Candy Growly
tried her hardest to moderate them.
Outside the debate building, large swarms of people had decided on their own
to join the show. Some said that they wanted to bring their own tough
questions. Some said that they wanted ...

Remember when Ted Kennedy asked the Soviets for help defeating Reagan?
By Thomas Lifson
The Democrats are desperately diverting attention away from their rigging
the nomination fight by charging that Russia is interfering in our election.

didn’t seem to disturb Democrats. In fact, with the help of friendly media,
the entire incident has been sent to the memory hole. Once upon a time it
was revealed, but nobody...

One evening that summer, after a day of swimming at the club, I attended a
small gathering at a house in the Chevy Chase/Bethesda area. There were four
boys I remember being there: Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, P.J. Smyth, and
one other boy whose name I cannot recall. I remember my friend Leland Ingham
attending. I do not remember all of the details of how that gathering came
together, but like many that summer, it was almost surely a spur of the
moment gathering. I truly wish I could provide det...

Interview with Dr. Yiran Chen
I think I could say that whoever knows Dr. Chen, personally or
professionally, would agree that his career, while still in a young and
aspiring stage, is purely legendary. I’m excited to find out what I’m
going to learn from him today.
Fiona: After you have graduated from Purdue with a Ph.D., you worked in
industry for five years. Why did you decide to go back to academia?
Dr. Chen: I was asked this question by many of my colleagues and student...
